If anybody has been looking for a URC-1056 (Atlas 5-Device OCAP PVR remote), HERE is a guy selling 40 of them.
Disclaimer: I have no knowledge of this seller nor financial interest in building up his sales. I just like this remote, and figure that the more folks that get one and help troubleshoot the extender, the better off, ultimately, I will be. _________________ Beginners - Read this thread first

I've been looking for a place to get a few of these so I ordered 3 of them. One for me, my mother and one as a spare.
I'm wondering, will my JP1.2/3 cable from Tommy work with this remote or will there be a problem?
The one I have has the contact in chamber 5 completely removed, at least that's what I remember Tommy telling me.
I've been wanting to have one because it reminds me of my old 8810w with it's bigger buttons. |

It's a JP1.3 remote, so it should work with your cable. _________________ Beginners - Read this thread first

yes, these work with Tommy's new blinking JP1.2 cable, however you have to either remote pin 5 from the remote or cut wire 5 in the cable. (I chose to cut the wire in mine) _________________ this JP1 stuff is a sickness! |

unclemiltie, when I first got my cable from Tommy, it would not work with my 15-135 without removing pin 5, so I told Tommy this and told me to try it on one with pin 5 intact and cut wire #5 and it worked that way.
Me and Tommy exchanged many emails and found out what the problem was, it was somehow connecting wire 5 all the way even though Tommy cut the wire right at the IDC connector.
He asked me to send it back and try a newer one that had the contact that connects to pin 5 completely removed. And it now works with my 15-135 without pin 5 removed. I have a second 15-135 with pin 5 intact and I no longer have a problem downloading/uploading. |

This guy has changed the listing no less than 9 times, and changed the price 3 times just today. And he can't answer a simple question by looking a the label on any one of his 40 remotes (or 100 depending on what mood he's in)??? |

But note he has an almost 11000 positive feedback, so he is probably trustworthy... |

I just got my 3 remotes now. They shipped via USPS Priority Mail.
Lets see here...
1056B01
1056ABC1-BXX-001-XXXX-XXX-R

I tried the learning procedure, but it didn't work. Looks like it's not learning-capable.
One more thing, I didn't have to remove pin 5 or cut wire 5 on my cable because Tommy made it fool proof. |

Great. Now the backlighting on one of the remotes has stopped working. I wonder why?
EDIT: Never mind about that, I found out how to turn it back on.

Pressing setup twice turns the backlight function on/off. Check your manual. |
