I am searching for discrete input codes for my Philips 42pfl7422d LCD TV. Everything I've found here so far does not work. (Okay, I did get it to directly switch to AV2, but that is the only thing that worked.)

I did find some Pronto input codes here, but from what I gather, IRTool works with learned codes, not input codes like these? Is there any way I can get these Pronto input codes converted to jp1? Or am I not using IRTool correctly?

Those codes don't need as much translation, so no one wrote a program.

The second to last number is the device number. Notice it is 0 for some of those functions and 3 for others. That might be what confused you when you tried it with JP1. You might not have configured your upgrade to support device 3.

The last number in each of those lines is hex for the OBC number, but that is NOT the same as JP1 hex. You need to do an ordinary hex to decimal translation to get the OBC number, then let RM or KM etc. translate that to JP1 EFC and HEx.

The power Off listed on the page is very unlikely to be correct. It is the standard power toggle function. I don't believe Philips used the standard power toggle function as a power off for some model.

Thanks for the info. I tried and still had no luck. I've converted bunches of codes today to and from hex. I've tried a lot of codes from here and from Google searches. Success still eludes me. Guess I'll keep playing with it.

What remote are you using? Although a bit complex to understand, THIS link leads to a very complete set of upgrades for the doubtless very similar 47PFL7432D.

If you identify your remote, someone can help you tailor these upgrades.

I'm using the 8910. You are right, the 7432 and 7422 use the same software so the same remote codes will work. I have been using those files for most of my trials. I've tried the hex code, I've converted codes, I've tried different device numbers. I'm at a loss right now.

If it's the same remote, then have you tried the upgrade in that zip file named "Philips 47PFL7432D RC6-based upgrade Multi-byte Key Moves" directly? Just change the remote to the non-extender variant, move around any button assignments as you want, and cut and paste the upgrade into your IR file.

Upload that to you remote and it should work.

If it does not, then upload your guilty IR file to the diagnosis area and post a link for someone to take a look here.

I got the discrete inputs assigned to L1-L4. So it works but I'm not 100% sure what I did. More on that later.

Now my problem is the TV takes about 10 seconds to warm up when powering on. It won't accept a discrete input change from a macro until it is fully on. So my macro needs to power on the TV, the cable box, and then the TV's input needs to be changed about 10 seconds later. In other words, I need to program a 10 second pause into the macro. From what I've read so far, am I going to have to use an extender to put a pause in a macro?

Edit: Just saw the info about the pause protocol in KM. Got to check that out now.

Here is how I got the discrete inputs to work:

I read the notes in the RM file and it mentioned using a RC-5/5a protocol for a RCVR device 1089. I copied the key moves from RM into the device section of IR for my TV. I then went to the Key Moves tab in IR and edited the moves so that they were no longer shifted and instead used the L1-L4 keys.

Finally, since I use KM instead of RM, I went into KM's Key Moves tab and set the bound device to RCVR and bound the discrete input codes to the L1-L4 keys. It generated the same key move code and hex codes as were in RM.
