So far you're the only one having trouble with XL97 that I'm aware of. Mike England actually used 97 to add the M6805 changes to v8.04, so I'm fairly confident it might be something in your setup. I'm off to see if I can come up with anything... _________________ Mark |

David, you are not alone.
I am having the same problem too.
Excel XP and 2003 WinXP SP1
Mark, after you click OK on the Compile error dialog box, this is what I see
Quote: |
Private Sub Workbook_Open()
'show message in StatusBar
ShowStatusMsg "Loading keymap-master..."
InRestore = False
'check for Analysis Toolpak installed (English version only)
If Application.International(xlCountryCode) = 1 Then
If Application.AddIns("Analysis ToolPak").Installed = False Then
msg = ""
msg = msg + "The Microsoft Excel Analysis Toolpak must be installed and" + vbLf
|
the Private Sub Workbook_Open() is highlighted in yellow with an arrow and
msg="" is in blue
Hope that helps
Jim |

I can try it at work on Monday (Excal 97 with Win 2000) and see if I get the error there. _________________ dlevin_99@yahoo.com |

What happens when you click the OK button after receiving the error? Does the References dialog box open up, and if so, are there any indications of errors in there? _________________ Mark |

After receiving the error, if it doesn't open automatically, go to the VBA Tools menu and select References. Let me know what References are checked. _________________ Mark |

No reference window pops up-
And, the menu option is ghosted (I can't select it):

Odd...
I can say that the highlighted code is NOT in any way connected to the error. For some reason, in VBA displays the line it was trying to execute when it encountered the error when running under XL97.
You can try opening KM with macros DISABLED and then goto the VBA Editior and see if you can get to References. _________________ Mark |

Doh!!! The References command is ghosted because the code is still running! You need to go to the Run menu and select Reset. Then References should be enabled.
Here's some steps to correct the XL97 error:
In the References dialog:
- Uncheck any entry that says "MISSING:".
- Uncheck the entry that says "Microsoft Office 8.0 Object Library".
- Uncheck the entry that says "OLE Automation".
- Click OK.
Go to File, Save keymap-master...
Click No to the "Do you want to save this Device Upgrade..." dialog.
Click Yes to the "Are you really sure..." dialog.
Go back to Excel and close the KM spreadsheet.
Open KM with macros ENABLED.
Let me know if the error goes away. _________________ Mark |
