|

Dear gentlemen!
With my old TV everything was OK.
Bought a new TV PHILIPS 32PW9520.
Having a URC 8810, learned all needed codes, created an upgrade for my Dreambox remote with KM, loaded it and......
With TV mode everything is OK, but with the new upgrade my remote stubbornly refuses to send a Vol+ command in Dreambox mode, which I have not touched. (Even the LED on the remote does not light, when I press this button.)
All other works OK.
Loading back the old software eliminates this problem for Dreambox, but I cannot control my TV without this update.
Any ideas????
Files should be here, if I did everything right.

Are you saying that when you have the OldDrBox.ir file loaded, pressing the volume buttons in DREAM mode sends the volume commands to the TV? I'm surprised, because VPT is turned off in both files.
Here's a version of your upgraded file with VPT turned on

Thank you, Rob, but you did not understand. In old version volume buttons did control respectively the devices, which were switched on i.e. in DREAM MODE i controlled the volume status on Dreambox, in TV mode I controlled the volume of the TV.
The problem is, that after my upgrade I no more can control the Dreambox volume in VOL+ direction (in DREAM mode), the button does not respond, no Led on the remote and no response from Dreambox. All other buttons work.
Regards.
Satmart.
P.S. Your file does not correct the problem. |

Thank you!
At least I already see, that the LED on the remote works. About test results I will be able to report in about 9-10 hours, when I get home to my Dreambox.
I see differences in raw data, but could you explain a little deeper?
Why my upgrade affected already installed device, which I did not want to touch?
What would be the right way to do it?
How did you do it?

Satmart. |

You encountered one of the bugs in dreambox remote V1.
This bug also causes occasional remote locks up or resets.
I don't know what exactly is causing this bug or what is happening in the remote.
But I noticed it occurs sometimes (not always) when more than one upgrade is added to remote.
I have found simple workaround for this problem. It disappears when one of the upgrades added to EEPROM is one byte longer or shorter.
So I deleted function from BACK button in TV2036 upgrade and now it is one byte smaller.
This should not affect your remote programming since you have defined keymoves on BACK and FORWARD buttons in all device modes.
I also corrected these keymoves, they were two bytes and TV2036 is using PID 58 (RC6) which is single byte protocol.
You probably used keymoves already present in remote as role model and assumed your keymoves must be two bytes too. |

My respect and thousand thanks!
It really works!
Such information on possible bugs and workarounds comes with a lot of experience.
