Well...
if my rc gives me 4 flashes after a 981, then I can learn keys with the 975.
My problem is that I always get 2 short and one long flash after the 981.
I can not reproduce what leeds to this, and now I not able to bring it back again ( fresh batteries, a 994 etc does not help anymore ).
So I guess that my rc HAVE a problem, but I dont't know what kind.

2 short flashes and 1 long flash means that there's a problem with the EEPROM, though I don't know what sort of problem.
When I'm adding EEPROMs to the URC-6131, I sometimes get 2 short/1 long. This means I have to go back and touch up the soldering on each of the EEPROM pins, then almost everytime I get 4 short flashes.
If this were my remote, I would re-solder each pin of the EEPROM by simply touching the soldering iron onto each pin. If that didn't fix it, I'd also re-heat the solder on each pin of the 6-pin conenctor.
If that still didn't fix it, I'd replace the EEPROM. _________________ Rob

OK, there is something wrong with the EEPROM, or the parts concerning the EEPROM.
I replaced the EEPROM itself with a new one, the SMD-Parts around the EEPROM I touched with the soldering iron...
Could this behaviour be caused by too low battery voltage? The one time I get things back to work was after inserting new batteries and doing a 981, but that doesn't work anymore, tried with many new batteries....
Maybe one of the capacitors is broken..
I hope that it is not a stupid user error, but I tried it so many times...
The suspicious thing is that the "normal" device codes are stored in the EEPROM ( not forgotten after batteries out and shorting .. )

What do you mean by "the normal device codes"? |

He means the "setup codes" (not "device codes") that he has assigned to each device button. _________________ Rob
