Hi guys ,
i want to try my luck here as an expert on RMIR may enlighten me on this issue.
I have an old yamaha receiver AX492. it selects cd input via ir code 7A-1B. I converted it to hex code and then pasted it to pronto IRtool to see decodeir dll result.
so it is NEC1 protocol , device 122.-1, obc:21, efc:120
once i go to RMIR function section i can only set OBC or EFC or EFC5 thus cant match above.
if efc is chosen 120, obc = 21 and efc5 =120 , if obc chosen 21, efc & efc5=120 (i need to set EFC5 as 122 but it wont let me)
all any other code except this one (select CD) work fine. anyone can help me with that?
version.3.0.12 remote oarusb04g v1.04 |

EFCs only serve a purpose when you're programming a remote without JP1. As you're using RMIR and RM to program your remote, just use device codes and OBC codes, don't worry about EFCs. _________________ Rob

thanks for the care, i rechecked and as you say only obc code input is good as is ,
in my case it is the part of input wheel that is faulty, not the respective ir code.
so anyone googles codes for ax-492-592-892 below are examples:
AFAI tried it is similar & matches with AX-596.
CD/DVD INPUT 7 A 1 5 OBC:21
TUNER INPUT 7 A 1 6 OBC:22
AUX INPUT 7 A 1 7 OBC:23
AUX INPUT 7 A 1 7
TAPE 1 INPUT 7 A 1 8
CD/DVD INPUT 7 A 1 5
TUNER INPUT 7 A 1 6
PHONO INPUT 7 A 1 4
VOLUME DOWN 7 A 1 B
VOLUME UP 7 A 1 A
POWER ON/OFF 7 A 1 F
tape 2 most probably 7 A 1 9
first use Yamaha Pronto IR Hex Converter
then use irtool to convet hex to obc.
thanks again boss for this program. |

I don't understand your problem. Why do you need to set EFC5=122? Where do you get that value from? Do you think it is related to the device code? It isn't. EFC and EFC5 are both calculated from the OBC, and are equal for protocols such as NEC1 that use a single-byte function code. Your need for EFC=120, EFC5-122 is based on a misunderstanding. _________________ Graham |
