The link seems to work fine, but I get an error after running the .exe file. The error says "You must unzip the entire contents of the distribution file.... IRbeta.exe was the only contents of the zip file.

Make sure you place the BETA in the same directory. |

Open my file in IRBETA. However, remember that you need the extender RDF for an 8810 in order or this to work. Go to the files section and extract the RDF called 6_80_2x3(URC-881x_801x_601xx3 2k).rdf
RDFS
This should alleviate the errors you see. BTW, my file will not work at all with the current version of IR.

You've used the long Yahoo URL, rather than the short URL as described in the stricky on this subject. The long URL will work for you as it's specific to your area, but it won't work for everyone. _________________ Rob

I guess I didn't follow the post then. I usually just copy the url in the message using the format that makes it show up as llink in the post.
Not sure then what the diff is between short and long. If I click on the link in preview and it works then what would I have done differently.
The link worked for Davec??

I guess the best response I can give this is "trust me". If you really want more details, I guess you could search the forum to find all the other posts from people saying that links don't work, but regardless, we've already figured out how to crrectly post links so that they work and we've posted a guide letting you know how to do it, and everytime someone posts the bad link format, we post a notice asking them to use the correct format. I'm not sure how much more we can do, but I'm open to suggestions. Remember, we didn't invent the way Yahoo links work, we're just dealing with it. _________________ Rob

Ok I see. You were referring to the links for the RDF's. I guess I copied something wrong. |

I was referring to the first link in the post preceeding the one were I made the comment. The URL used in that link is as follows:
f3.grp.yahoofs.com/v1/kNZ2QAfPnennakjshXLv-
lkUlGJVxVv8SAWYERiYhEe82068FTrMqiUX8q58K9UgT485qX5Sprl1AgZ
TN_Tw4p_tnQ/User%20Configurations/paul6910ext.txt
Whereas the URL that you should have used is...
http://groups.yahoo.com/group/jp1/files/User%20Configurations/paul6910ext.txt
This is explained in more detail in a sticky thread called Posting links to Yahoo files, which is at the top of every forum. _________________ Rob
