Sorry to revive an old thread, but i've been looking at this remote and I can't find any info on how bright the backlight is, just how long you can configure the backlight to stay on, and what color the backlight is.

Looks pretty much like this. Plenty bright, but not too bright IMO.

The '04G backlight duration is selected using 978 and pressing digit keys 1, 2, or 3-- which yield about 3, 6, or 9 seconds. You can disable backlighting entirely by 978 followed by the 0 button. |

I just broke out my OARUSB04G for the first time yesterday. The backlight is not quite as bright as that pic might make it appear but I agree with Dave that it's bright enough. It also appears that it is motion activated, which is nice, because I usually have to cover the IR window and press a random button to activate the backlight on most remotes, and the motion detector is not overly sensitive too.
Not quite sure why they have an orange colored button rather than a yellow though. _________________ Rob
