Boxes 4 and 5 have virtually the same set of keys but, although the original remotes have alternative command sets, Lime switches were preferred for energy saving.
Because the 7960 device modes are in a continuous loop, and macros cannot be run in 'Smart Modes'/activities, the TV device is used as the hub with most macros on its number buttons, and with three of the boxes run as activities.
A useful feature of 7960 is that, if a device-select button is not pressed more than once while it remains lighted, no progrees takes place around the loop of devices.
From watching just the TV, in device mode, the three Smart modes can be accessed with their buttons, with one press of one of the device-select buttons for access to the relevant shifted keys and macros, or to go back to the TV device when a device-select button is followed by Input Tv (on button '16.9', which can also be used to start the TV in device mode).
Because the HT/BluRay works with CEC and has controls in common with DMR, no navigationi in the loop is needed and the device selector can be left in TV. |
