Pause Protocol for RM

My remote is a URC-1067, Comcast DVR remote. I got the rdf file for this and selected it with RM (1.83). Under Protocol I do not see the Pause Protocol like in KM. There was a post last year that said it was there in RM between Panasonic and Pioneer. I don't see it. Is it possible because of the rdf?

I can't use KM because this remote is not supported.

It looks like a standalone Pause protocol has not yet been written for JP1.2 remotes. Maybe vickyg, who has written a JP1.2 extender previously which includes a Pause protocol, can help you. She's the JP1.2 expert.

She's the JP1.2 expert.
Nah, she's only a wannabe, but she's trying hard. Mike and Binky are the true JP1.2 experts.

I couldn't tell which 1067 we were talking about here. There are so many versions. Are you talking about the JP1.2 version? How big a delay are we talking about here? Sometimes just rearranging your commands can do it. If you need a few seconds, you might want to try the zenith Pause trick.

There is an adjustable pause in the extender, but I haven't coded it to be a standalone protocol. This would probably be a good project to help me figure out how to use protocol builder.

Yes, the remote is JP1.2
A nominal one second delay would be good, I can always string a few.

Will the one for the 10820 not work? This one works fine in my JP1.3 remote. I just takes 2 bytes instead of one, i.e., a 1 second pause is $10 $92 rather than just $10.

No that 10820 protocol is not generic. I do believe there is a generic protocol for the 8820 that should work for the URC-1067, but its not that one.

The JP1.2 Pause protocol itself in KM is generic (to all JP1.2 remotes). Since KM does not support the Comcast 1067 until the next release, try this for now:

Code: Select all

Upgrade Code 0 = 0F CF (Cable/1999) Pause (KM v9.13)
 FB 00 01
KeyMoves
 A6 F0 04 07 CF 00 92«delay 1s»
End

Upgrade Protocol 0 = 01 FB (HCS08) Pause Protocol (Special) (KM v9.13)
 20 03 00 00 01 A6 F4 AE 29 CD FF A1 3B 60 F6 81
End
This puts a keymove on shift-A with a 1-second delay (EFC=00146). Once you have it in IR you can edit it to move it to a different key. You can use KM to calculate the EFC if you want to adjust the time delay. Set it for the URC-8820 and enter the delay OBC on the functions sheet, then KM wil calculate the 5-digit EFC that you can enter in IR.

I didn't have time to check, but RM should be able to generate the Pause protocol for this remote as long as the RDF file is there.
