urcd 9960 and media centre pc

Post by aaronmiller999 »

Hi guys,
I have called up the help line and have succesfully added the code for MCE to the remote. I can control my pc succesfully with the new code. The problem is it is set to the cable device, which doesn't have functions such as play, stop, forward, back etc. This is a real pain the backside, sometimes i might want to pause a song etc.
I know about key mover but as i understand it this only assigns a key which is on another device eg volume up but still controls the original source device.
Is their anyway i can give the cable device more actual keys??

Thanks

Aaron

if i understand you right you dont have to have it asigned a button. you have to have an upgrade in devices for it though, afaik. 9960 is a cool remote once i got past no buttons

The if I remember correctly, the 9960 does have play/pause buttons on cable but you have to push the "scroll" button first. I'd have to go back and look at one (which do you have, the original B00 or the newer B01?)

if you have a JP1 cable it would be trivial to move the device to the PVR button. If not, then you could "blink out" the code that has been put in for the MCE for the CBL button and then set the PVR button to that same device. How to "blink out" the code and then move the code is in the users manual. (but doing this via JP1 would be so much easier!)
this JP1 stuff is a sickness!
