Sony STR-GA90ESG rear Control A1 port

2. Type of device: A/V Receiver using VisionTouch
3. Year: 1998 or so??
4. JP1/UEI Remote model: URC 8910
5. Do you have a JP1 cable? Yes, parallel
6. Still have original remote? Yes
7. Checked the file section? Yes
8. Checked Pronto file section (at R/C)? Yes
9. Partially working setup code? Front IR port works great.
10. Learning remote question? Looking for Control A1 protocol that would be used at the rear port, not the original IR 455 kHz protocol. That one's working great. (see below)
You guys are bloody geniuses! I used an upgrade found here that included a protocol for the Sony STR-GA90ESG receiver using Visiontouch technology. It's remote uses a 455 kHz frequency and the protocol upgrade worked perfectly! Let's call this Method 1.
However, now i want to take it to the next level. I want to make use of an IR repeater. I have checked all around and have been unable to locate a unit that works with this freq. Xantech used to make one but it's been discontinued.
As found at Remote Central, Gil Diaz has adapted his receiver for use with a Pronto using the rear "Control A1" port on the receiver and an IR repeater. Let's call this Method 2. I have replicated his hardware setup but cannot get this to work. I have tried all of the Sony protocols. I have tried using the upgrade file for Method 1 and also tried from scratch using Device ID = 192, Command Code 46 and 47 (for Power ON and Power OFF) with all of the Sony Protocols.
I tried to decode the ccf file but i could not extract useful information.
