StarHub (Singapore) SmartTV / Thomson DVR DC162SHB

Post by johnw88 »

I'm trying to get a PAL Slingbox working with a Thomson DC162SHB, sold as SmartTV by StarHub in Singapore.

It uses similar codes as the StarHub Digital Cablebox ADB3000 (ABQ-1H57-SCV) which was posted a while back by The Robman -

https://www.hifi-remote.com/forums/dload ... le_id=2466

and the Bin files were recently posted by zaphod7501 -

https://www.hifi-remote.com/forums/dload ... le_id=3640

I have the codes for the basic operations but need to get the codes for the extended DVR functions.

I don't have a learning remote to download them but wondered if there's an easy way to determine the OBC or Hex codes from the basic function codes that are already available.

I've also posted this request on the Sling Community but received no helpful comments -

Also a question, how do I create and map an image of the remote control for this? Or do I just use a similar DVR remote, though some keys are missing.

Thanks to the forum for getting me this far, any further assistance would be gratefully received

How are you using the ADB3000 file? Did you just directly use the BIN file from above or did you create your own from that KM file?

If you created your own BIN from the KM file, you already have an RM file from which you exported your own BIN file, correct? In that case, your easiest (although somewhat tedious) approach is to add functions (don't use names, just OBC numbers) to that file, assign the unused OBCs (between 000-255), assign those "functions" to buttons in RM (you'll only be able to do a handful at a time, so this will take a few iterations) and upload the resulting BIN to your Slingbox and test them, keeping track of what OBC performs what function.

If you have simply loaded the BIN file from above, then you have to go to that first KM file, open it in RM, change the remote to Slingbox (make sure you pick the correct version) and proceed as I outlined above.

As for Map and image file, I'm not sure your question is germane. What are you trying to create a Map and Image file for? Map and Image files are used in RM to reflect the JP1 REMOTE (or in this case your Slingbox). They do NOT serve to reflect the source OEM remote, as the software has nothing to do with the THOUSANDS of such remotes out there.

And if you have no idea what I'm talking about in the top three paragraphs, then you need to read the sticky post in the beginners' section titled "Beginners - Read This First", focusing on the RM section.
