IR ERROR

Ok I am really new to this, I was unable to download codes that would work with my coolbx so I purchased the 8910 and USB cable and off I go at trying to program my own codes for my sling box. Now First things first I have been trying to find help on this from other users but could not find anything.
I programed the 8910 and made sure it worked.
Downloaded the USB Driver
Opened IR.exe and hooked up the cord.
Tried to download the codes and got an ERROR
"SDA is held low, make sure the bateries are installed in the remote"
Any help. (yes the batteries are installed in the Remote)
is their a help file that I am missing?
