showstopper vs replay
what is the difference between replay and panasonic protocol. I have a showstopper and it seems like the replay protocol doesnt work when I program the remote. The remotes on ebay say they will work both. What gives?

Re: showstopper vs replay
Well, they are entirely different protocols. However, the Panasonic Showstopper does respond to either protocol, so something else must be going on.captainvid wrote:what is the difference between replay and panasonic protocol. The Panasonic Replay remotes were programmed to send the Panasonic version of the signal, while the Replay branded remotes were programmed to send the RC6a signals.
The Replay software itself is programmed to respond to either signal, so it doesn't make a difference which one you use. However, there are slight differences in the features supported by each version of the signal.
The RC6a (Replay) version supports unit codes and discrete on/off codes, but does not support the TV/DVR and BYPASS functions. The Panasonic version only supports unit codes for the 4k and 5k machines (AFAIK), does not support discrete codes but does include the TV/DVR and BYPASS functions.
