JP1 Remotes

Are the 15-1994 & 15-1995 the only two RS (JP1) remotes with their own internal timer for devices without a sleep function of their own?

See I've been desperately looking for a 1994 thinking it's the only RS Jp1 remote with a built in timer for devices w/o a sleep function.

Methinks I may have screwed up.

Most JP1 remotes have the sleep timer function, a UEI "feature". If the current device doesn't support a native SLEEP function, then the built-in timer is used. Both my 15-2104 and URC-8810w have it.

I don't know if that's true of the more recent remotes, I thought the SLEEP button was just a regular button on remotes like the 8811, 8910, etc.

Is it a Euro thing? My 7652, 8040 (Euro Kameleon 4), 7552 and 8550 (Topline 8) have the built-in sleeptimer but not my 8910. I see that the 8810 doesn't either. I think the 7552 also has an alarm-clock facility.

Dunno, the old UEI remotes had the feature (like the 15-1994, URC-7800, etc) but the new ones don't. Maybe they decided that most devices have a built-in SLEEP feature now so there's no need to put it in the remotes.

Furthermore, when the remote does have this feature, it means that you can't program a keymove or learning to the SLEEP button.

Must admit it did seem a bit of a chore having to leave the remote pointed in the right direction. So they replaced its function, maybe, in the 8910 with the really useful "com skip" facility?

Ain't that the truth! For all the good stuff that UEI packs into their remotes, they always manage to squeeze in a couple of "what were they thinking?" features too!
