"Logical" button choices?

I've been trying to get into the zen of choosing logical buttons for function keys that aren't on my 8811 and I could use some suggestions or info on what others do and feedback on my choices.

I need discrete input selection for DTV, ANT-A and input-1. I've assigned these under the TV device (I'm not running the extender yet) to FWD, REW and STOP respectively. TV/VCR cycles through the inputs as defined by the setup code (I think it's 0150 for Mits TV). This set of assignments sort of makes sense.

Here's one that's trickier - where to assign format (my display comes up in 4:3 format and I can't override that). I found the discretes for this and assigned "expand" to GUIDE. I'm not sure where it should logically go.

For my macros such as set up the HT to watch HD, I use shift+CBL, as I only use my cable box to watch HD content. To setup the HT for watching DVD's, I use shift+DVD. To just watch TV (recall I have to change the format from 4:3 to expand), I use shift+TV for that macro.

Thanks,
jeff

For me placing buttons is trial and error. I just try to make sure that the buttons choices make sense and are intuitive. Sometimes, I am left with a poor choice so I try to set these up where it makes for the least movement of my thumb. This way, it makes button surfing a lot easier.
