I've got the same universal, the RadioShack 15-2116. The "MySystem" feature just rocks!
In my case I built the cable myself with some RadioShack parts and a hacked up IDE cable (it helps if you use the side with the red striped pin1 wire for the pin1 wire on your JP1 cable). I was fortunate to find upgrade files already existing for my Sony Dream System DAV-FC7 and my Infocus X1 projector on the Yahoo!Groups site. I loaded them in RM, changed a few buttons and functions around. Then I downloaded my current 2116's setup with all its grossly limited amount of learned IR codes, etc. I copied the output from RM to IR for the DVD device and saved it. Then I did the same for the projector making it a SAT device (since its right next to the TV device button, and we have a TV alone w/ the projector).
NOTE: you can override various limitations inherent to the remotes programming interface by using RM/IR, like putting macros and keymoves, etc on which ever keys you want.
WOW, what a difference in stress level

I hated searching for a remote... I hated it 5 times more when having to search for 5 of them. It just always seemed stupid that all these universal remotes have bizzare limitations. Between limited memories, functionalities that seemed like a maze of contradictions in purpose and some of the stupidest interfaces I've ever seen, I was about ready to give up on universal remotes after buying and returning about 6 or 7 of them. The last one I had was the 15-2116 and I had got it to work OK. I was the only one that really made things easier, but I still had to make compromises (especially with its small learning memory). Now, its
exactly how
I want it.
Thank you to all of you who wrote the drivers and software to make this work and especially to those who figured out the cable pinouts and electronics.

[edit] p.s. this is not to brag but to encourage: I did this over the course of a days without asking any questions on the forum. Its that easy. The people who put all this together did a great job. Just BE SURE TO READ THIS:
