Minor IR502 copy issue

I really love the new notes feature in IR502, thank you!
There might be a minor problem with copy (using the button at the bottom) out of the the keymoves tab. I searched if someone already mentioned this, but didn’t see it.
I think I copied keymoves info once in rev4 and it was ok, so this might be a new feature.
When I paste text into notepad/word/excel, the row of headings behaves as if it were 2 or 3 rows of Excel’s merged cells invention. All the keymove info is correct, but due to the funny sequence of the heading items, it doesn’t look too pretty and transposing the heading cells is out of the question. Suggestion: if this was/is in Excel, I’d keep the headings in one row, wordwrapped. If this is one of those VB grid controls then ??

I don't follow. There is no copy button at the bottom of the KeyMove tab..do you mean clone?
Also I don't follow where you are copying from and then pasting into Excel..
If you can provide more details I'll look into this.

Lower left corner of the screen... copies the Key Moves "summary" to the clipboard.

Oh..I've never used that..I copy and paste from the summary screen in IR.
The code in the copy button is a straight clipboard copy..that's why it looks the way it does.
The summary screen in IR is generated in code to keep the formatting clean.

Super! I never used Summary screen. Just saw it, it's good if you can live with tab separated values. Sure is better than the other way and complete system docs look good. Thanks a lot

Oh, yes,

I do: understanding protocols, doing magic to give us black-box apps, and super upgrades! Some of us would be unemployed if all upgrades were that easy …
For me, Summary has perfect, visually correct, format (my message was muddy, sorry) and is sufficient.
Current transfer via clipboard button or copy of Summary into a text file looks drunk of course, due to tabs (not IR issue) and Bill Gates hasn’t yet invented a way to align data to headings in simple files. There is no good format for text files via clipboard . You can't put out grids and expect them to survive transfer to text files. CSV (comma separated values) and quoted strings would be less ambiguous in some situation, but not a dream either, and on overkill for IR info. Best strategy – do nothing other than the heading problem I mentioned. Or zap that button. Or reroute the button routine into the Summary.

Paul,
I saw no reason to disagree. But ...
This issue just bit me

,slightly.
Integration problem, I think.
I posted a message yesterday into the ExtenderCalc v300 thread that some stuff isn't working.
It turns out, that when ,in IR, the clip button is used to transfer keymoves data over to ExtCalc, IR's headings* fill columns A:B in rows 6-13.
In ExtenderCalc, my workaround was to delete those rows. Clearing the cells is not sufficient. It appears to me that ExtCalc aborts due to those IR headings. Once removed, translation to buttons took place.
*headings - see initial post, above.
So, in your spare time ...
Don't know what to suggest. I suspect that dropping the headings might be the simplest thing, UNLESS ExtCalc uses them, but I really doubt it (I think it's just paste with something enabled to translate text to columns).
The alternative might be for ExtCalc to ignore rows where, say, bound key or something is blank.

Oh...I never use that button so I forget it's there. I'm not sure what you are asking for.
I don't believe that button was created for anything more than copy and paste with out a particular application in mind.
Besides why use ExtCalc when that functionality is in IR.

DSM is not in IR.

It is if you have added that device.

I have a URC-6131 with Extender 1. DSM (TV/1103) is a built-in pseudo device, not visible in IR.exe. How do I get IR to let me create/edit DSMs without using ExtCals?
