During a recent Code Search of the web, I stumbled upon THIS motorola site which seems to list a LOT of IR codes. I'm not smart enough to know the format, but I guess it's decodable using IRTool. Might it warrant a sticky post here in the Code Search forum? ..or inclusion as one of the resources to search in the #1 Code Search FAQ?

The format is Pronto Hex, so IRTool is the correct way to decode it.

I've been using and recommending that site for years, since someone at Remote Central told me about it. For most of that time the title bar said "Premise Systems", not "Motorola". I have no clue what Premise Systems is or was nor why they provide a public collection of Pronto Hex, nor whether they were part of Motorola back when the web site didn't say so.

For people like me who don't actually have the products, the organization of that site is much worse than RemoteCentral, because they don't identify the device types. They just give a model number for each device. If you don't know how a given brand names models, then you have trouble finding a device of the same type as the model you want (which in any IR collection usually isn't there).

I have usually found this forum to be very helpful and thorough so I hope I didn't miss something obvious here. I made several attempts at getting the IRTool to work before I finally discovered you have to have the DecodeIR.dll located in the same directory. If it is mentioned in any documentation I have missed that fact every time I went through it. Maybe you should mention that fact in this thread with the link to download the IRTool application. It would have saved me a little frustration. Thanks

9. Partially working setup code? Yes - Audio receiver 1276. "Power off" works fine. But I need the "Power On" discrete code to program via the 994 command to a key like PIP On/Off. Apparently, the System Power On is NEC1 device 122, function 29 which translates to EFC 00248 and that works fine on my Atlas 1056B01. But that EFC code doesn't work on my newer Atlas 1056B03 to turn the receiver on.

Hopefully, Vicky will move these two posts to a more appropriate forum or at least remove it from the sticky.

Anyway, a stock 1056B03 doesn't accept the 994 command so you can't do a keymove. mathdon has provided an extender for the B03 which adds the capabilities for keymoves. But you need a JP1 flash cable (FTDI chipset) to install the extender. You can get one for about $8. See this thread about cheap cables.

I'm really very new to remote controls and the referenced thread has so many posts and options for those who enjoy building their own. Perhaps you can recommend a specific JP1 flash cable that fits the 1056B03 connector and can be purchased online.

I also need to know the PowerOn code that the B03 requires, the software application to download, and how to program the Power On code to a specific key on the remote.

Hope you can help me out.

For cables, the least amount of work on your part and best fit to the 6 pin connector, but the highest expense is this Tommy Tyler designed interface cable from TxSat. Or, this one is < $10 and is shipped from the US. Several users here have purchased this <$8 cable and have had good results. It is shipped from China, so the delivery time is pretty long.

You need RMIR v2.02a or 2.03 Alpha. Also, download and install the 1056B03 Extender. The you can use RMIR to download from your 1056B03, go to the Keymoves tab, and enter in EFC 00248 using the 1276 setup code and the Audio device button.

Or, you can skip installing the Extender, and just use the Yamaha RX-V1300 Upgrade which is very similar to your HTR5760. Use the Wiki: JP1 - Just How Easy Is It? - RM-IR Version to see instructions. The advantage here is that you can select from a wide variety of functions (i.e discrete inputs or the on-screen display) to assign to your Atlas.
