1. Device: Pioneer HTS-GS1
2. Type of device: ~HTIB for game system support
3. Year: 2005?
4. JP1/UEI Remote model: Comcast 1068, 990=01982
5. Do you have a JP1 cable? No (always bought audio-modem type)
6. Still have original remote? Yes, AXD7445
7. Checked the file section? Yes, see text
8. Checked Pronto file section (at R/C)? Yes
9. Partially working setup code? Yes, 2 or 3!
10. Learning remote question? No
11. Have you tried the JP1 Lookup Tool? Yes
I was pretty into this a couple of years back, so I have some experience, but always with audio-modems.
I did learn to EFC into my Comcast remotes to add to setup codes, by looking them up in RM.
So...
I got this Game-HTIB and love it!
It is now part of a Xbox and Comcast based system, where the wife uses the Comcast remote.
I want the Comcast Aux to act like the HTS-GS1 remote.
The HTS-GS1 remote does 2 (or 3) things.
It works the HTIB for sound, input, volume and such.
It also works the Xbox for the Media Center stuff like start WMC, record, 'transport', and of course, play Xbox some.
(It has a small TV control section, I don't care, I have that.)
I can:
Set Comcast 1068 to 31384 for some Pioneer controls, and permanent EFCs for input select and on/off.
All the EFC codes from file "Pioneer HTS-GS1 URC-6131 v0.9b.rmdu will work manually under this setup code (Pio-HTIB 'side' of remote).
Set Comcast 1068 to (EDIT - NOT - 20522) 21708 or 21972 for some Xbox/Media Center controls, and permanent EFCs for some.
After some corrections, all the AXD7445 functions from file "Windows-Media-Center-plus-Xbox.rmdu" will work manually under this setup code (Xbox 'side'of remote).
They don't cross - no Pio EFCs work under Xbox setup code, and no Xbox EFCs work under Pio setup code.
Obviously, that's what I want to do! (And to understand, of course.)
A. I think... that when I change setup codes I also change protocols, and so an EFC from one doesn't 'come out' like they do when I start in the correct setup code.
B. I also think you're gonna tell I can only do this with a cable and a custom protocol that does a mix/combo for Xbox and Pioneer.
C. I don't yhink I would go that far yet, as it really is their gear and I may just use 2 devices on a 'larger' remote later.
D. Are there any other solutions?
E. I think maybe I could temporarily set TV as Xbox, Aux as Pio and 'move' single keys from TV to Aux. Then set TV back to Vizio for instance.
F. Would they 'take' their protocol with them? And keep it?
Thanks for the help!
