shift keys & 9910

I have setup 6 shift keys for video 1 thru 6 with the correct advance codes. I can press "SET" then the advance code and the TV switches to the correct video source. It also works with MACROs. However, when I press "SET" then "1", nothing happens. I used IR with Key Moves below. Can anyone tell me what I am doing wrong?
Bound Key:
SHIFT-1
SHIFT-2
SHIFT-3
SHIFT-4
SHIFT-5
SHIFT-6

If you don't have an extender then you need to press Set twice to shift a digit.

Thank you. It works. I would like to use phantom keys instead of shift keys for these functions. IR does not give me an option anywhere for phantom keys and with KM, under the button tab, the phantom keys are grayed out. How can I use phantom keys?

There are no phantom keys defined for the 8910/9910. It's possible that it is an oversight, as I mentioned in
this thread, but I'm not sure.

I did some digging and it appears safe to add these phantoms to the 8910/9910/HTPro RDF.
Phantom1=$3D
Phantom2=$3E
Phantom3=$3F (this one can also be added to the extender RDF)
This is the limit of what is available due to the large amount of available buttons on this remote.
I will also add these to the RDFs for the next distribution.

You can add more Phantoms than that, you don't have to stop at $3F, you can use $40, $41, etc.
I just checked the extender RDF and the extender specific button codes don't start until $68.

I thought that xshift in the extender started at $c0 and that would cause an overlap. If that is not a problem I agree.

But even so, $C0 is after $40.

$40 plus $80 is $C0 if someone shifts the phantom.
As long as the lower numbered xshfted buttons are not being used there will not be a problem to go to $40 and above with Phantoms especially if they are not shifting them. It's just a matter of choice between xshifted and shifted Phantoms.
Unless someone tells me that it is not a problem for a shifted $40 or greater to bump against an xshifted $C0 or greater button I would prefer to play it safe with the distribution RDF's

Thanks everyone for the information. I think I understand now. I can add phantom keys to IR by editing the RDF file, but I cannot add them with KM. Is this correct?

Correct

For KM to support the phantoms, they need to be "official". Once Nils has added them to an RDF, Mark usually adds them to KM.

But in the meantime, don't forget that you can do
this.. 8)
