JP1 Remotes

I've been using an 8910 for something like 8 years now, and have found that the Atlas remotes are almost as good from a replacement perspective, so I use those on other sets. However, my usage has changed a lot , and these days what I want is a remote with many fewer keys. I no longer have a need for a number-pad, as I am generally browsing menus rather than typing in channels now. I basically only need power, up, down, left, right, enter, play, pause, stop, ffwd, and rew, as well as buttons to switch devices. Ideally with a backlight as well.

Are there any JP1 remotes with such a simple layout?

I have a couple of Roku remotes that would be perfect, except that they aren't backlit.

I'm desperate enough, that if someone knows of a backlit remote that can be obtained, even if it isn't JP1, I'd probably bring myself to build a re-transmitter so it could control my devices.

How about the one mentioned in this thread (https://www.hifi-remote.com/forums/viewt ... 8600#p98600)? It is the one I have. It has a fairly simple layout, ergonomic, and is fully backlit.

Sorry, but what you ask for doesn't exist. All JP1 remotes require a number pad for programming. The only exception might be the Cricket, but it's too simple for your purposes and may not even be JP1.

Although not as simple as you'd like, the model eferz posted is also my favorite.

Well, there is a MAP and RDF in Remote Master for the Cricket JP 1.3 (30383038) .

I actually have a Cricket that I bought for my daughter, but I never got around to creating a pin extender for it (my current cable won't attach as the pins are too deep in the remote). It isn't backlit and is pretty ugly, and isn't really ideal for my purposes.

Thanks for the heads up on the insignia remote. It certainly has a lot more buttons than I need, but it is a bit simpler than the Atlas/8910 remotes I've been using. Maybe worth giving it a try.
