JP1 Remotes

From an absolute beginner (and if I'm in the wrong Forum, could someone please point me in the right direction).

HARDWARE
I have a Thomson dci7211 TV decoder which decodes the cable TV. There are several output slots on the back of the box:

• a large black plug with about 20 female sockets marked "TV". I think it's called a LCD TV cable
  a second large black plug with about 20 female sockets marked "VCR".
  a 'RF' socket
  a 'coax' socket
  a 'HDMI' socket
  a USB socket

I have a flat computer screen, which has a DVI-D and a VGA input

Lastly, I have a PC (running Windows XP) which has a PCI TV card (SAA 7130, made by Phillips). This TV card has the following sockets:

• a standard TV aerial input
  audio in
  S-Video input plug

THE PROBLEM...
I can connect the decoder direct to my computer screen using a HDMI to DVI-D cable. However, this means I can't use the screen for the computer. What I want is to open the TV in a separate window on my computer.

1) How on earth do I connect the TV decoder box to my TV card?
2) What settings do I use on the software (Honestech TV) that came with the TV card? It has settings for TV, CABLE, S-VIDEO, and COMPOSITE.

With all these variable, I'm totally confused.

The "20 or so" pin connectors are Scart (also known as Peritel), which are commonly for A/V connections where they use PAL video. They are 21 pin.

You can get Scart to RCA cables or adapters.

You use what connection you connect your box with.
