JP1 EEPROM Programming Adapter

Use a JP1 Flash cable with an EEPROM remote. No driver problems with lastest computers and OS. Supports JP1 Flash command set (E,I,V,R,S,C) and additional diagnostic commands. Simple circuit, low cost.
Prototype.
Programming a Cinema 7.
Works with IR.
Diagnostic menu, EEPROM contents display.

Interesting idea Kevin, did you program the chip yourself?
Did you try it using 64-bit Vista or Win7 OS?

Yes, I wrote the firmware and designed the hardware.
Yes, it works with Vista 64 and Win 7 32/64.
It uses a JP1 flash cable and flash command set, so any OS that can program a flash remote will work with this adapter. All communication is 38,400 serial - nothing special.

Kevin,
Congratulations on another masterpiece. Can I get a copy of the hex code to burn a PIC and try it? Or maybe there's a PIC freeware program I can run the assembler through to produce the hex?

Web site now has a zip file with source and hex.
Microchip has a free editor, assembler, debugger, and programmer called
MPLAB.

Got it now, thanks.
No, I am home, but for some reason that just wouldn't come up. I am using Firefox, I don't know if that has anything to do with it.
This will be very useful to me, as I am trying to program a jp1 EEPROM but I took Windblows off my old old laptop with a parallel port and I'm trying to learn to use Linux. Setting up ir for Linux is giving me a learning experience.

Hi,
I just need some clarification please, it's information overload on this site!
Will this adapter + USB JP1.2/3 (Flash) Interface cable(Tommy's latest one) work with a urc-8910?
And later if I decide to buy either a 10820 or 8820, the USB JP1.2/3 (Flash) Interface cable will work on both of those?
I've looked at all the charts etc,
