Question about input programming?

So I have a Vizio VL420M lcd with a Atlas OCAP 1056 that I am learning to program to do what I want. However, I am wondering if there is a way that I can program the input that I want used for a macro.

The Vizio I have uses the Vizio VR2 remote however if you look at the remote it has a button for all the inputs but not for the multiples of that input (ie HDMI1, HDMI2).

Here is what I am trying to do.
When I hit CBL the macro would equal something like this
TV:HDMI1:CBL
When I hit VCR the macro would equal something like this
TV:TV(input):VCR(TIVO)

You certainly can put macros on the device buttons. The examples you give don't look right though. Explain in English what you want the macro to do and I will try to help you. I have been very successful programming Vizio device button macros....

TT... here is a bit of an explanation of what I have so that you have a better idea.

TV: Vizio VL420M
Cable: Motorola DCH6200
PVR: Tivo Series 2
Recever: Sony STR-DG500
Console: Xbox 360
DVD: Sony NSP55

Now I have audio and video for pretty much everything run into the inputs for the tv with optical out to my receiver (except for the dvd which is on a different input). So basically all sound runs through Video 1 input on the receiver.

What macro I was talking about is this....
TV Button
Turns TV to HDMI input 1 then switches over to cable for channel/menu control (eventually I will get an HD Tivo that will be the main channel changing control)

DVD button
Turn TV to Composite 1 (AV1)
Turns Receiver to DVD Input (input 3 I believe)
Turns on DVD player

Hope that makes a bit more sense
