Couple easy questions (for you guys anyway...)

I am expecting my JP1 connector today and have done a lot of reading (I am slowly moving up to newbie status...). I have the URC-8810W remote and would like to know if it will be possible to do the following with just IR:
Press Power button: TV on, Audio rcvr on, Audio rcvr switch to SAT mode, switch remote to SAT mode.
Press DVD button: Audio rcvr switch to DVD mode, switch remote to DVD mode.
Also, is the Home Theater button programable with just IR?
Thanks!

Yes to all. However, remember that macros are universal so that if you put a macro on a specific button you will loose that buttons original function.
I typically set these up using the Shift+Button idea, that way there is no issue with the original function or if one accidentally hits one of those keys.
All of this can be easily done with IR.
Good Luck.

As e34m5 stated you can do this for shift-DVD with just IR. If you want to put the macro on the DVD key, that will require an extender.

If you mean, can I program my Home Theater settings (PIP device = VCR, TV device = TV, etc.) within IR then the answer is yes. If you mean, "can I put a macro or a keymove on the Home Theater key?" then the answer is no without using an extender. I believe the extender will let you do either of these things.

Well, I think that I can get away with not using the extender for now but I am sure there will be things that I will want to use the extender for (probably sooner than later...)
Thanks!
