Thanks a lot for the last fix guys, you don't know how much I appreciate it!

Now my next question, I have a bose system downstairs on my other dvr

http://www.bose.com/controller?url=/sho ... /index.jsp

I think it's the V20 but they all use the same remote and mine looks like the one in the picture. I have tried all the bose codes on aux and I can't get it to do the volume. Any ideas for that?

I know how to set a volume lock to the aux but like I said the bose codes in the comcast code list comcast gave me don't work. This is the same newer style remote I posted a pic of in my other thread. It would be nice to program the old remote as well since I still have it.

Hey Sim, when you post in the code search forum your really need to use this template. It really helps us, help you. I think your original post was posted in the beginner's section and then moved here, because we insist on this information.

1. Device: Bose Lifestyle Model v20
2. Type of device: HT
3. Year: ??
4. JP1/UEI Remote model:Comcast 1067Bx3 & Comcast1067a
5. Do you have a JP1 cable? no, but would purchase one if necessary
6. Still have original remote? yes
7. Checked the file section?
8. Checked Pronto file section (at R/C)?
9. Partially working setup code?
10. Learning remote question? no

I'm assuming you tried [3]1229 and [3]1933, which are the Bose Aux codes in the 1067b (red button remote). Did you get ANY functionality out of them?

Since you are brand new, I suspect you don't know how to use all of our tools. Our next plan of action would be to see if we have any other Bose upgrades in the file sections, here or at remote central, that might work. Since we know you don't have a cable, we'll look to see if either of your remotes have a similar device that we can use as a basis for EFC's that you can make work with keymoves(994).

There is a spreadsheet called Devices in the Main tool section. Its very useful in doing this.

It would be helpful to know if either upgrade gave you any functionality. The page you linked to suggested you might have a lifestyle v20 or v30 and that [3]1933 really should have given you control.

You've mentioned that you know how to do Volume lock/unlock, but to make sure set

Set Aux to code 31933
short press setup
type 00187 while aimed at the HT and see if that doesn't turn the volume up.

thanks for the reply, I have a v20. I bought the system maybe a year a half ago or so. I tried the codes you posted - I can't get the bose system to respond to anything. Volume, menu, power, etc. I'd rather not have to buy a cable I am kinda use to using the bose remote for volume but it would be nice to get the comcast one working.

Vicky, after doing a quick google search I came up with this.

http://www.remotecentral.com/cgi-bin/mb ... d.cgi?3191

You have to go into your bose setup and turn on ir to accept other remotes. That is set to off be default. I just turned it on and 31933 works perfect. I have had this thing over a year and never even thought about that. I have never heard of a system like that before. Stupid - well it works now - thanks for all the help here. If someone else ever asks about it just have them check ir control in the bose setup and make sure it's on. Ahhhh- I can't believe it was that simple...
