The scene buttons all use very low OBCs and there aren't any regular functions with OBCs this low, so the exec could do a TEST MAP for zeroes in the high order bits in order to decide to flip the bit in the complement byte.

(I haven't seen the code for the 4th scene button, so I'm just assuming that it's also in the same range).

Did anyone ever make a protocol upgrade for this or was the final outcome to just use the learned signals for the "SCENE" buttons?

I'm hoping someone made the upgrade. I have a similar Yamaha that does this special protocol for the scene buttons. everything else on the remote is NEC1 DEV 122 and 126

I really would like to use these on a OFA 6131.

If anyone could point me in the right direction, i have enough of a coding background that I may be able to built it myself.

If John's hunch is correct, you could try making a "helper upgrade" for the scene buttons using the TiVo (Official) protocol with Device = 122, SubDevice = 133 and Unit Code = 1. This might work if the TiVo protocol handles the rest of the checkbyte correctly.

A helper upgrade is one where you do not assign any functions to buttons. You use keymoves based on the helper upgrade. The original poster only submitted learned info for 3 of the scene buttons (OBC 0, 3 & 6), so we don't know OBC values for any remaining scene functions.

Code: Select all

Upgrade Code 0 = 3F B8 (Misc Audio/1976) keymap-master Device Upgrade (KM v9.12)
 11 00 01 A1 5E 7F
End
