Comcast Hi-Def Remote

Post by wilbur »

Howdy,

I've been playing with JP1 on my rs2116 for a few weeks now. Got it set up with upgrades/extender2/etc... anyway I noticed that the remote that came with my Comcast DCT-5100 Hi-def box had a JP1 connector. I've tried to do a download in IR with it, but it doesn't work. I have a JP1 cable (regular $20 one) from Filebug. If I connect it one way, IR says 'No response from interface,' and the CABLE led blinks twice. If I hook it up the other way, IR just says 'No response from interface.'

Here is the info I could find on the remote itself:
Chip:
SST(logo)
65p542R
8-C-SG
0321192-A6
(C)UEIC-0103

Battery:
RC1384701/00MB
3139 228 62601
MADE IN INDONESIA
BS: 02 06328 0 016735

Anyone have any ideas if/how I'll be able to get this to work... I'd like to be able to do some macros and/or device upgrades, and maybe more.

Here's a picture of it, next to my 2116 for size reference:

Thanks for any help,
Wilbur

Sounds like this remote is using one of the new SST flash chips. We have no idea how to read and write to these puppies yet.
