Many thanks, my brain was starting to hurt :D

There were two rdf files which I had previously downloaded from the jp1 Yahoo Groups files area for my Topline 8. They are named correctly on the site but the parentheses were stripped out of the name on downloading here.

Thanks for the quick response. I've just tried v1.18 but it still generates the same error here. I've just noticed the smilies in my error report above. You probably realised that they are "8" with a ")" after it!

I seem to be having a similar problem. I downloaded the folowing jre file today and installed it:

jre-1_5_0_01-windows-i586-p.exe

When I try to run RM v117 it will ask me where the rdf files are but then it quits. The following is final part of the error log:

Yep, upload the fixed data and look at the clock on your remote :) Then when you return from the darkened room, you can add your devices, etc.

Many thanks for the info. I've done as suggested and saved the original configuration. The 'bug' error now doesn't appear in the Devices tab.

Should I now upload the fixed data to the remote?

I think I shall now go and lie in a darkened room while I get my head around the rest of it :)

IR checksum error

I've just received a 'new' Topline 8 (URC-8550) from OneforAll UK. They very kindly replaced the faulty one I sent to them free of charge. They also updated it with some device codes for the equipment I have:

VCR 722, 1722, 1723
Sat/Cbl 1900

I've also got a Topline 5 which the '8' is destined to ...
