Pronto Hex to JP1-useable code
My apologies for asking what surely has been asked a thousand times before, but how do you convert a Philips Pronto hex code into something you can use with JP1? I did search here for the answer before asking, but couldn't find it. Anyway, this page at Remotecentral.com has the discrete PowerON ...

If I had the choice between spending the price of a Philips Pronto to buy a Pronto or to buy the system I described above, I would *personally* go for the latter. For one thing, you could have multiple remotes around the room so that different people (his, hers, kids) can control things. With the ...

A Whacky Idea for a New Remote System
I've a whacky idea for a totally new remote system. It goes like this:
1. It includes a simple, lightweight remote with minimal buttons (volume, channels, transport, arrows, select and a single "extras" button).
2. The remote talks to an IR receiver box which sits (logically) between the tv and ...

Macros? -- How would I...?
I have several URC-8910 remotes. Despite years of using JP1 remotes, I find that I need for the first time to write some macros. I have an original manual for the 8910 and I've scoured this site looking for FAQs, guides and how-to threads, but I'm still a little confused about how to do what I want ...

URC-6022 and 6022x -- Just a Rumor?
The RemoteChart.htm table/spreadsheet at this site which lists (or tries to) all of the JP1 remotes, includes entries for the URC-6022 and URC-6022x . The latter is said to have eeprom memory of 10k. However, after much googling, I can't find that the 6022 or 6022x are or were ever made, or are ...

IR.exe, Keymoves and Device Keymaps
The readme file for IR 1.86 says:
The Buttons panel is split in two parts. On the left is a table listing the buttons available on the remote. This table consists of 3 columns:

Wanted: JP1 Remote with Display, Labels
Does anyone make a JP1 remote which has a screen and 6, 8 or 10 buttons around the screen which would have labels (on the screen) which change based on the function of the button?

Looking for FAQ on Multiple RpTV 5xxx Units & One JP1 Re
Robman, et al,
Please forgive me, but I can't find an FAQ or a guide for controlling multiple ReplayTV 5000 series units with a single JP1 remote ( not the original RpTV remote ). I've owned several RpTV units for many years, but only today placed a second RpTV 5000 at the same location as another ...

Rob and Mark,
Thank you for your replies. As it turned out, I just pressed [SET] and a 3 digit number going through all the codes from 000 to 255. In hindsight, Rob's method would have been much better, but the job is done. Since I could find no published codes for my Sanyo tv (HT30744), I used the ...

Manually Inputting EFC Codes (to test for function)
Is there a way to manually input an EFC code on a UEI (8910) remote? I have a Sanyo TV which uses the NEC1 (Device 56) codeset. All my searches to date have found no discrete codes for power or input. However, I thought if there were a way to try 0 through 255, that it would be worth the effort ...
