I will probably get a cable eventually, when my 8810 remote dies. Dropping $30 on a cable isn't a priority for me right now. If someone wanted to lend me a JP1.3 cable, I'd be happy to help develop an RDF. Anybody local to the area of Newport News, VA?

Posted H20 file
This evening I took the time to modify the D10 file and added all the missing functions that are on the RC24 remote that comes with the H20 receiver. I used my learning remote to add all the keys except "format", which was the one I really wanted, of course. This one wouldn't learn cleanly, so I had ...

I got the last one at my local store. It was obviously a return. The package wasn't even stapled, and the remote had batteries in it.
I can deduce the reason for the return by the first sentence the clerk asked when I wanted to know where the universal remotes were kept, "What components would you ...

Thanks for your quick response, Jon. I think my longwindedness has obscured my point.
The RC5 protocol has a toggle bit. Each time you press and release a button one bit toggles. For the SAME succesive key, the IR receiver must see the bit change or it doesn't interpret it as a new command. if you ...

Bizarre problem with RC5 protocall (long post)
I've discovered some strange behavior in the RC5 protocall which I think is an error, but I'm not sure. I'm reporting this to see if anyone else has noticed it, and also to see if it can be fixed.

New Philips TV discrete input codes discovered
I have a Philips widescreen HDTV, model 30PW862H. Six months ago I posted an upgrade file to the Yahoo group containing all the functions and codes on the factory remote. Recently I got a new DVD player and have been revisiting the JP1 topic. I got motivated to start with some previously posted ...
