I agree with you all that the sony gear should be no issue. I have been through the files section, and haven't found the code I am looking for - to add the twist, these are not US models, they are Australian (hence te 240VAC), so there are/were equivalences, but sometimes the naming/numbering is ...

Hey Craig,
Don't be a wimp, get out your soldering iron and do the hardware hack on your URC-8800!!! :) My degree is in software engineering, not hardware engineering ... so I am far happier with a compiler than a soldering iron :D

I have some older equipment that aren't fully recognised by the ...

For our purposes the IRMan is only useful if someone has a non-learning remote. The JP1 learning capability in conjunction with IR/DecodeIR.dll is very advanced compared to any other learning remote. Appreciate the assistance - I fall into the category of having an "Idiot Savant" learning remote ...

Learning Commands /w IRMAN

I have seen only passing references to IRMAN (see www.evation.com if you are curious). I purchased one some time ago for an (aborted) PVR project (basically, my wife commandered the SFF box I had setup as a DB server for her dissertation).

Is there an application that will let you use IRMAN to ...

But I don't think I was asking you to touch Delphi (sorry Mark, no insult intended). Actually, I wasn't thinking of touching the Delphi code either (btw - nice code Mark, even without touching Pascal for over 10 years it all came flooding back to me ;) ). But one of the beauties of Pascal is the ...

But, but, but ... ir.exe is written in *shudder* Delphi. I haven't touched Delphi (or more particularly its older brother Pascal) since I was an undergrad.

Java is not particularly fast, but it IS portable with no rewrites necessary (for the most part). I cant see that speed of the app is ...

FWIW - Despite the fact I can read C++, I hate it, and prefer to use plain vanilla K&R C in preference. I have been a software developer for PalmOS devices in the past using straight C - none of this fancy shmancy object oriented stuff. Like Rob, my background was IBM 370/XA assembler in a CICS ...

The C++ source code is posted in the Yahoo JP1-KM group (a few rev's obsolete at the moment, but I'll update it again soon).

It performs massive calculations based on the data passed to it. Thankyou for pointing me to the JP1-KM group - I would never have known it existed. Taking a look at the ...

DecodeIR.dll - What does it do?

I've been lurking for a while, and (thanks to Rob) now have my account activated and running, and so the time has now come to start asking questions. This just happens to be the first :)

So, what is the purpose of the DecodeIR.dll? Is it a static data structure or does it go beyond that and ...
