Re: Casio XJ-350
You are in the JP1 forums, that file is a JP1 upgrade file, it's designed to be opened using JP1 software (specifically the RM or RMIR programs) and loaded into a JP1 remote. It's not designed to work with whatever that IR blaster is.

Re: Easy way to test a remote?
Yes, I described that method earlier.n8nagel wrote: Fri Mar 20, 2026 3:23 pm So that's the quickest way to do it? I was hoping there might be something I could hook up to a PC via USB or something where I could just verify codes in real time.

Re: Current JP1 remotes: URC-3660 and URC-3680
What sort of buttons does it have? Is it the traditional rubber button sheet or those clickable metal things that the more fancy remotes have?

Re: Easy way to test a remote?
If you're asking, how can you test that you learned it to the Sofabaton properly, the best that I can suggest is that you then learn it FROM the Sofabaton INTO the Xsight and see how that looks. Of course, that gives you 2 changes to screw up the learn, so if you see a bad learn in the Xsight, is it ...

Re: Media Player Recommendations...?
Hey Ed, do you know why they did that? I never understand why companies put time and money into giving you a downgrade.MaskedMan wrote: Thu Mar 19, 2026 4:30 amRoku media player hasn't been upgraded for over 5 years, the last thing was downgrade to where no longer played WMA files.

Re: Easy way to test a remote?
So, I did some Googling, it turns out that the Sonabaton X2 is a new fancy universal remote that does IR, Bluetooth, and Home Assistant control:

And the Sony UBP-X800M2 is a 4K Ultra HD Blu-ray™ Player:

Re: Converting these codes to remotemaster
Glad to hear it. Rather than load it as an attachment here, could you load it as a real file in the file section?

Re: NEC DS8000U VCR
If you know how to brute force test all 256 OBCs, skipping the OBCs that have a known function, that is absolutely the best way to fully document what OBCs your device supports, and is a much better use of your time than scanning through 100s of other upgrades and Remote Central files.

The URC-7981 is proving to be quite a challenge, but rest assured that it is still being worked on. I can't promise that we'll ever get it cracked, but if we do, there will be an update here.

Re: NEC DS8000U VCR
Do any of the VCR buttons cause the unit to power on, if it's currently off? I doubt it, but that sometimes works for audio receivers, where some buttons will work as a sort-of discrete on in addition to their labeled function. If that isn't the case, and you don't want to use X10 to power on the ...

Re: NEC DS8000U VCR
Why does the POWER toggle button not turn on the VCR, does it have a push-pull POWER button? If it does, the only way you can do it would be to have a remote controlled power source. As you're doing everything else old-school, you could find some old X10 units?

that folder seems to have accidentally been dropped starting with v3.2.13, if you download versions v3.2.0 and before, it's there
