I do have a thread about it somewhere here. Did try the Inteset IR adapter with both a Fire TV and Onn Google TV. Didn't work all that well. Some of the commands it sends to the device are not the same as the original remotes are interpreted. Even with keymapping apps, it wasn't reliable, as some ...

Forgot how to set up a replacement remote with extender
I am trying to replace an RCRP05B with another one. The old one has an extender (v1.04). I'm having a hard time trying to figure out how to get the extender installed, and then upload my existing setup into the new remote. I tried to follow some of the notes in the extender FAQ, but it seems a bit ...

I know what it's like when an old site dies. Recently, DSLReports went down. It's semi-available for around 5 minutes at the top of the hour where you can try and copy data, but it's not usable as a forum. Luckily, some users created a new site, and trying to use the DSLR notification system to try ...

Should add that the processor used (S905X4) is the EXACT same one used in the Walmart Onn 4K Pro Google TV streaming box. That version has 3GB of RAM and 32GB of storage. Sort of the middle of the options available for that Magic See.

Is it an IR remote, or RF? It seems as if many of the basic boxes use Bluetooth or similar remotes. Looking at pictures of the device and it's remote (no remote shown for this model, but others all look the same) and it looks just like any generic Android device remote. Almost identical to the one ...

Just yet another update on the IreTV adapter. I found on the Google TV that in the Sling app, the OK button did not work! I could use the Play/Pause. Checking with the button mapper, it is sending "Numpad_ENTER" instead of DPAD_OK. Looked into remapping, but it looks like I also need to install s ...

Just an update about the Inteset IReTV USB adapter.
I recently got the Walmart Onn 4K Pro player. I decided to try the adapter on it. I had some of the same issues as the Fire TV (arrow keys often act like holding down), but worse, the back key did not work in the Google TV UI. I tried one of those ...

Side question about Roku TV's: Any idea if they support multiple codes, like an A/B setup? Someone on the Roku forums is trying to install 2 TV's per room at a retirement home. I guess RF-based isn't always practical, so you end up with two TV's responding at the same time.
