While trying to get past the "Code 10" error reinstalling my old DIY JP1.2/3 cable with the new Prolific driver, I ran across this site:

As stated in the linked thread, you need to disable Java direct3d acceleration.
That didn't help.

But updating Java to jre1.8.0_151 fixed it. Corrupted/buggy java?

Wow, does that mean, you are talking about the USB port of the Touch, if you talk about communication protocol?
This would be marvellous, a huge step.
Your situation is now looking more promising that it did two months ago. We have started to be able to read data from the Touch through its USB ...

New code set: Samsung PNxxD7000

I've added some codes new to the D series from Samsung to the ongoing Samsung TV set (previous PN50C550). Includes "3D", "SmartHub", "Social" and "E-Manual" keys, along with a few more undocumented ones (Channel Add/Del, OTA/Cable).

The DMP-BDT110 remote is NOT a universal remote and the volume/channel stuff only works on a Panny TV. So your volume codes should be punched through from your audio device and the buttons on the BD remote are irrelevant.

Thanks Rob! Yeah, the days of parallel ports have ended. It was a great interface while it lasted (oh, probably about 10 years)! Time to move on I guess.
What I ended up doing, since I had other stuff that needed 32-bit XP, was get an ultra-small-form-factor Dell PC from the Pentium D era (eBay ...

I don't know what the status is regarding parallel (LPT) or serial cables with 64-bit systems.

After some experimentation, here is what I think: neither IR.exe or RMIR.exe works due to the lack of a hardware port access module that will operate in 64-bit mode. PortTalk.sys was the name in RMIR ...

Thanks, Rob. I pretty much knew that the TIAO chips was used, which is too bad as their driver site is messed up (the files aren't right). FTDI seems to own the USB market right now, so that's a good choice.

Any news on the old LPT JP1 cables under Win7-64 (and, yes, there are motherboards with ISA ...

Tommy--

Is your 1.2/1.3 USB interface the same as the one sold by DIYGadget (TIAO)? If not, does it use the same USB IC? I know it isn't your product, but I'm at my wit's end tring to get ONE of my 3 Jp1/Jp1.1 serial/JP1.2.3 USB cables to work on Win7-64

In any event does your magic JP1 adapter ...

I found this suggestion in another forum to get 'unsigned' drivers working in Windows 7.

From the command line, run the following two commands:
bcdedit.exe -set loadoptions DDISABLE_INTEGRITY_CHECKS
bcdedit.exe -set TESTSIGNING ON

Can anyone give this a try on Win7-64 to see if the good 'ol ...

Re: Any new JP1 remotes

I still use the JP1 serial cable and dont want to buy a new cable...
what are my options for new, decent JP1 remotes?
I guess gently used like new is ok too.

Couple buttons I could use: pg up/down, internet, return, tools, DVR, etc.
Some color buttons: red green blue yellow, etc.

My dish and new ...

Re: Market Value of a Radio Shack 15-1994?

How much would a Radio Shack 15-1994 that's had almost no use be worth these days?

Thanks,
BGC $10-20 on Ebay, but you probably want to sell it as a fixed price listing. It is one of the 2 or 3 best ever JP1 remotes, given the excellent key layout. If it is near new, I will pay $15 including ...
