Man, I really don't understand why it's so hard for manufacturers to provide discrete on/off codes for devices. They're so important in terms of Macros/Activities.

Bumping an old thread. Just picked up a TCL QM851. I don't see a discrete on/off code in @mdavej 's file (unless I missed it?). Does one not exist for TCL?

BTW, does anyone know whether one can use setup codes with a Harmony 880 remote (friend is asking who also wants to get a service menu code onto their remote).

That's actually what I tried the first go-round, but that particular file doesn't show up when I try to add it as a device (even though I have "All Device upgrades" selected in the files of type box). So I figured maybe it was an image file.

I am trying to upload this file to my Nevo C2, but keep getting "Error uploading to remote" when I do.

Is this not an uploadable file and/or is there a different way to add these to the remote that I'm doing wrong?

Picked up an HU810P, trying to figure out if there are discrete codes available to swap between picture modes (e.g., bright room vs dark room) instead of having to scroll through?

I have an RMIR file, but not sure how I upload it here? I don't see an attach file anywhere when I post in a thread?

Also be aware that some Comcast boxes (assuming they're the same as Rogers) require an IR receiver dongle be plugged in to work with IR.

It would be useful to know the make model of your cable box since all code searches are based on the actual device being controlled, not the model of the remote ...

Strange. Gave the upgrade file a go, some of the commands worked, some didn't. More importantly, none of them do reliably, and I have to be within a few feet of the box for them to do so.

Thought maybe it was the Nevo, but checked it with another device, range was fine.

Believe I tried a couple of the upgrade files but will double check that one.

On the Harmony hub all I did was enter the brand Xfinity then model Xi6-a f and it figured out the right code.

Wonder if I can somehow learn from the Harmony Elite remote as IIRC I can set it to output IR.

Yes, the XR15 remote is terrible. The box is an Xi6-A.

I tried to learn some functions from a remote that I hadn't yet paired but ddidnt have much success.

Is there a way to learn functions to the remote while using RMIR? I was only able to learn when the remote was not plugged into my PC.

...ah, no I don't have any remotes that work with SimpleSet. Remotes I do have:

Harmony Elite
URC WR7
Nevo C3
Radio Shack 15-2104
RCA System Link 3
URC RF20

It's odd, seems the XR15 remote may in some way be tied to the X16-A box it comes with.

I just tried another one of my XR15's from a cable ...

I don't have a JP1 cable. Haven't tried simplest.com..will have a look.

Hmm...maybe the remote is RF or something (Xfinity XR15), doesn't seem to be, but I can't learn any of its functions into the Nevo C3 or any learning remote for that matter??
