A different Scan Problem

Searching the archives, I haven't seen anyone mention this problem. My 15-1995 remote is working great (using an extender). But I accidently hit the fav/scan button recently and the device started scanning like it should (even though I have no functions assigned to that button).

Anyway, the problem ...

Mark,

Thanks for looking at the file.

For example, you've got an upgrade for X10 (HomeAuto:0167). There's also 2 key moves: P&P:Power and P&P:Mute(Sleep), both of which are defined in the upgrade.

The reason is I have a keymove on the power button is because I have macro on the Power button ...

Memory Limit on 15-1995

It seems like I reached the limit on memory on this remote (I have 14 macros (some simple, some not), and 13 keymoves in IR and I need to do 2 more keymoves). I seem to remember somewhere that different extenders use memory differently or something. I am using version 1.1 but also tried version 1.2 ...

Thanks guys - and Elizabeth...I guess you're one of the "guys' in spirit maybe :) . Yes, I got discrete on/off to work great, thanks. I'm now using an extender and lovin' it. Once I got past my initial problems with my receiver, everything has been relatively straightforward (I've even gone back to ...

Panasonic Receiver (SA-HE100 and others) Discrete Codes

Has anyone (ElizabethD?) ever found if there is a EFC for A/B speaker selection? It is not even on my OEM remote, so I can't learn it. I also searched the archives, but nothing.

Thanks,
Tom

Jon,

I thought of powering off the VCR as part of the macro, but then, there would be times when I might be recording something and inadvertently turn it off.

I didn't think about connecting the cable to the video input of the VCR...that might do it (although I think that would mean I couldn't ...

Conditional Command

I have a question similar to this one: Can you query current device status in macros?

I am using an extended 15-1995 and my question has to do with a Mitxubishi HU-57 VCR. After using the VCR, I can execute a macro to watch any other source, but, depending on the TV/VCR position of the VCR (ie. if ...

The problem was a bad IR led. I saw a post about these LED's but I don't remember if they are anything special. I know this has two, a wide angle and narrow angle, but don't know which is which.

Does anyone know where to get these?

How much current do they draw, in case I can't find one and need ...

I discovered that there is a problem in my second remote. In looking at the signal on a scope, the amplitude is much lower, so I'm guessing it's a bad transisitor or ir led (this unit has two). I will do some more checking and let you know.

Anyway, the same IR file DOES work in both versions of ...

Mark,

I was able to add the extender to my current RDF file (as another device) just like you said. It's totally cool and is working great now, thanks a bunch!! And yes, when I downloaded from the remote after making the change (first removed the old rdf file from the directory), it asked which rdf ...

Thanks, Nils. I will give it a try again, but I still don't understand about the .rdf file. If I try to open my saved IR file (that I developed with the unextended rdf), and then try to switch rdf's, I lose all my data. Do I have to build the file from scratch after loading the extender, or am I ...

Basic Question Extender Readme for 15-1995

I'm not sure what the readme file means when it says:

"1. Replace the RDF in your IR directory with the one in the ZIP file". Since I have been using the unextended RDF, do I rename the extended RDF to what I had been using? When I tried loading my IR file without renaming it, it kept losing my ...

All 15-1995's are not alike?

After programming my 15-1995 almost to where I want it (I'm convinced it will never be completely right), I decided it was time to program my 2nd 15-1995 (the one that has the working backlight). Unfortunately even though I downloaded the exact same program to both remotes, only some of the ...

Mark,

I deleted VPT and put in the 2 byte hex command. It didn't work. I then set it up like you suggested with setup code 0308 and.....son of a gun it worked like a champ!

Man, that is cool. It seems so obvious when you know the answer. :D

I am curious though why you think it didn't work with ...

Yes, it works fine in Amp mode. I either stumped the expert, or I really screwed something up. You guys gave me a few more things to experiment with so I'll try them over the weekend and let you know.

Have a good one 8)
