SONY RM-DY017, yamaha HTR codes

I am trying to control a Yamaha HTR 5560 with a SONY RM-DY017 remote. Sony does not provide codes for Yamaha. What can I use?

I must have damaged some of the tiny plastic parts that hold it together in my too-violent opening. Anyway, it's great to know that one can repair these things-- they are cheap enough, but reprogramming a new one would be a chore.

Thanks-- it works!

Thanks, Rob-- I opened the remote, cleaned the contacts, and it all works just fine now. I noticed some moisture on the rubber buttons, which i cleaned and dried, and it is now as good as new. My biggest problem was closing it up-- I don't think they meant for mere mortals to open these cheap ...

Thanks, Rob-- I have been to that url, and found the same thing-- only SONY exists for them. Thanks for trying.

Yamaha HTR-5560 codes for a SONY remote (RM-YD017)

I have a SONY RM-YD017 remote (for a Bravia HD TV), and I would like the remote to control a Yamaha HTR5560. I cannot find the appropriate code for that. Can someone help?

Thanks. Is there any way to tell whether the keys of the old beloved 8820 indeed have, indeed, bit the dust?
Common sense says that if the batteries are fresh, and the recieving devices work fine with otehr remotes, it must be the 8820 buttons, but I am in denial...
BTW-- where can I get the 8820N?

8820 button problems

I could not find my earlier 8820 post either-- must have been lost in the Ether.
In any event I do have a weird problem with my beloved, 2-3 years old 8820-- it fails to turn the TV on or off, although occasionally it manages to do that. I have the same difficulty with the Yamaha receiver.
I am ...

Similar problem

His 10820N problem sounds rather similar to my recent difficulties with my veteran 8820 (see message elsewhere on this forum). I never tried to revive the ailing buttons by taking the batteries out, etc., but I did replace the batteries with fresh (alkaline) ones when the 8820 started acting up, but ...

That worked, but it is a little disappointing having to remember a different mode of operation for the AC.
Oh well...

Power ON/OFF for Panasonic Air Conditioner

I have a URC-8820L that I love, which I programmed to do almost everything I wanted without using the JP programming. However, now I want to teach it to operate the Panasonic AC I have, which is controlled by an IR remote control. I taught the 8820L to do everything, except for power ON/OFF. The ...

Thanks-- that document is great.
Isn't it odd that just for adding 2 extra devices and 3 learning keys the 10820 needs 4 AAA batteries to the 8820's 2?

Phantom keys

What are phantom keys, and how do I use them?
The main reason I am asking about the 10820 is the extra keys that it has, compared to the 8820.

8820 vs 10820

I have an OFA 8820, and although it is not as easy to use as my favorite 15-2116 (which ran out of memory ;-( ) it is usable, and I got it to do most of what I want without any JP1 programming. However, I would love to have a few more programmable keys, and the 10820 has 3 more "learning" keys (plus ...

Thanks you all for the quick responses.
I do not have a cable for the 8820, and don't want to get one if I can get along without it. I have one for my (wonderful) 15-2116, but it stopped working when I bought a new Thinkpad laptop. I got the 8820 as a replacement, which I had hoped will have a ...

More keys for the 8820

My OFA 8820 needs more keys!
Can the SET key be used as a shift?
I am trying to avoid the need to program the 8820 with a JP1.X cable, since I have almost all the functionality I need without it.
