count me in as well. I was debugging other issues. I couldn't get cable to work using serial port on the docking station at work. When I plugged it in the LCD display had all characters light up simultaneously. Perhaps when it was doing that it put LED in continuous transmit mode. Regardless of what ...

Tom, thank you once again. I did fix it. It ended up being the IR LED not working. I have used oscope to verify the remote is working. When I removed IR LED and did diode check it was open both ways. I used RadioShack remote with long LED leads that I trimmed and reinstalled. The light spectrum is ...

Thank you Tom. I did see that one side of LED is connected to battery + terminal through some current limiting resistor. I didn't see anything suspicious and measured ~0.9V drop in diode check mode with DMM. Even though I performed the measurement in circuit it does seems like the LED is fine but I ...

I believe you are referring to OPS reset and not MFP reset as described in here. I have tried the OPS reset but it didn't fix the problem I am having. I suspect I may have damaged remote and/or wiring somewhere. I did open the remote and inspected but haven't found anything wrong with it. This ...

thank you for the reply.

I've tried
Press and hold SETUP until screen reads "CODE SET"
Press RECORD
Follow the prompt

but nothing happens after that. My remote periodically rebooting/crashing. I thought perhaps manufacturing reset will cure it.

Converting Hex code

Hi,

I wasn't able to find KM, RM file for pioneer service remote control. Though I managed to fidn the Hex code that will activate the service menu on my pioneer kuro (that's all I am looking for).
Here it is:
Category Maintenance

HEX CODE (one long line)
0000 0068 ...

Wow. You guys are just awesome. I got my macbook pro yesterday and started programming my 15-100. Apple remote requires 01FF protocol and I had a conflict with my Samsung 01FF protocol. I decided to dig my old thread to see what kind of problems I had before and here you are with the solution to my ...

A.A. I just found the original remote for Samsung OTA tuner, installed batteries and tested. Long keypress doesn't send multiple commands in sequence(no duplicates). I'm pretty positive that is 1B5 protocol that duplicates those commands.

Well, then there must've been a change in production with ...

Lookup Tool? I don't see any links. I have some banners on the top but nothing related to this tool though.
I will play with different upgrade files, use Pioneer library if I get lucky I will generate an upgrade file and share with everyone. I saw at least one person looking for one with 8910 ...

Yeah, it isn't possible to extract the contents of a setup code directly from your remote, but in this case the Lookup Tool (link at the top of this page) wil do a pretty good job. There's a few duplicate entries, but you can look up setup code TV 0679, click on EFCs and enter the EFCs into RM. A ...

I also compared the output of the 15-100 when using the 1B5 protocol against the original remote on the scope and they were precisely identical. So, I can't explain why the 1B5 protocol should behave any different than the original remote. I'll have to do some direct side by side tests with the STB ...
