Many of the older Yamaha receivers did not support a power toggle, only discrete on & off. The upgrade you tried might be one of them. You can find all of the functions for various Yamaha receivers at their website, but you will have to match your HTR model to the equivalent RX-V series.

The Yamaha website has lists of all of the functions that are available for most of their equipment. IIRC, their standard codes (the one that their remote has buttons for) are NEC1 dev 122, and their "extended" codes (including many discretes) are dev 126. If you search this forum, you may find a ...

You might need a "Dev_Cancel" right before MacroZ if it is a DSM on a button other than in RCVR mode. In your example MacroZ is after you changed the device mode to RCVR.

I have a similar setup that calls a string of DSMs in the LKP and the Dev_Cancel at the end of each DSM was what I initially ...

In the extender RDF, there is a series of unused key codes after $3F. If you edit the RDF to add DiscreteOn & OFF at $40 & $41 (for example), then you can assign functions to those keys. However, if you try to use shifted or X-shifted versions of those keys you might get something unexpected. (There ...

What is the feasibility of creating a special protocol that would cycle thru a set of mini macros? Since the basic logic already exists in the extenders, it seems that finding a way to store the position within a list is the only issue. The ability to create multiple lists would be useful. Currently ...

Device 122 OBC 31 is the power toggle code, IF your receiver supports it. I have an HTR series that is about 2 years old that definitely does not have the power toggle, but my newer (and more high end) RXV series does. Use ToadTog to create the toggle if OBC 31 does not work.

Utilize shift cloaking and you do not need the Phantom1 keymove:

TV POWER <N/A> TV 1800 $11 $83 $83
TV DiscreteON<N/A> TV 1800 $98 $83
TV DiscreteOFF <N/A> TV 1800 $19 $83

The above example uses ToadTog bit 1 (adjust accordingly for your use). Use the DiscreteOn & DiscreteOff functions in your ...

Check out the Yamaha web site here for all of the standard and extended IR codes. Even if they don't list your specific device, you can usually find something close. IIRC, there is a spreadsheet in the files that will help you convert the info Yamaha gives into EFCs, or you can search old messages ...

I forget the exact details of the extender support for very long KeyMoves. I think that the extender does increase the maximum possible KeyMove size slightly,

I this related to the size of the macro buffer? When testing a DSM for 1994 ext 5, I found that although the extender allows 15 byte ...

Check out the Yamaha website (a link might be listed at the Yahoo jp1 site). They don't have IR codes listed explicitly for the HTR series, but if you can match your reciever up to the equivalent RX series, you will get a pretty good list. (The difference is that the HTRs are the mail order version ...

I made some notes a while back on the various 15-1994 rdf's, basically from reviewing the [General] and [Settings] sections. Recognizing that there have been a lot of recent changes in the rdf's and that extender 5 is now included in the distruibution, here's my notes FWIW. John's comment above ...

I don't recall the particulars, but in some cases the REC key must also be pushed twice, similar to shifted number keys.
