Why? It comes with individual DuPont cables. The only pin not together is RTS which is just on a different header. No soldering required.
The sabotaging is widely reported as FTDIgate. https://hackaday.com/2014/10/22/watch-that-windows-update-ftdi-drivers-are-killing-fake-chips/ and they did it ...

Would CH340 based serial work too? https://www.amazon.com/DSD-TECH-SH-U07B ... B09CK79B4C
I am reading about FTDI and I don't agree with their measure of sabotaging counterfeit equipment and punishing their customers who may not know they are using fake chip.

Re: Issues getting FT232RL JP1.X interface working
Incidentally, I came across this thread. I have the exact same board (bought from Amazon https://www.amazon.com/dp/B0DXT54KHT). And I am also faced with the "Remotes not found" error when using RMIR. My remote is RadioShack 15-134, fully functional, connected with batteries inside.

Re: Trying to program my RadioShack 15-134
I have installed JRE 8 and successfully ran setup.vbs and ran RemoteMaster.jar
But then, as I try to Download from remote. I am getting "No Remotes Found" error. I have batteries in my 15-134. As I plug in the wires (RTS, TXD, RXD and GND). I can see the LED come up on the FTDI board, even before I ...

Re: Trying to program my RadioShack 15-134
Yes, many buttons on my URC-6131 is unresponsive. But over the years, it has gone through a lot of abuses and eventually it cracked. At the time, my fix was to JB-Welt the case back together. I don't think I can open it without cracking the case again. I think it is time for it to go.

Trying to program my RadioShack 15-134
I have been using a URC-6131 for 20 years. I program it with a parallel cable and I have my Windows XP machine for it. The software is IR.exe, I think v7.15. The remote is failing and I need to replace it.

Re: New Radio Shack 15-134
EDIT: Finally got one and finished up the RDF. Actually nicer than I expected. The device buttons have led's so you know the active device, and the number keys have letters printed above them for easier searches on DirecTV DVR's. It also has a hidden Home Theater mode as well as 3 additional ...

Returning user. Confused.
I have been using JP1 for 20+ years and I use IR to manage my remote but I have not been using it lately. I used to have a One-For-All URC6131 but the remote is failing (it would suddenly stop responding and requires a power reset) and I need to find a replacement.

Upgrade code requires long press to work
Hi, I recently downloaded upgrade code for a PC remote control:

I programmed them on my URC-6131n. The key works fine. But for some reasons, I need to press the key longer (about .5 sec) in order for the receiver to log my key ...
