This is what actually got me started here in the first place. I have a 537 and got the cable to program it to control my tv.

There are a number of newer remotes that do now have codes built in it will be either 1610 or 11610 depending on the remote. The atlas OCAP remotes all have the code built in ...

@kupakai
You're right, thanks, that's the remote. I also took a better look in the battery compartment and with more light saw the JP1.2. Too bad that Vizio owner's manual doesn't have codes for Olevia or Syntax-Brillian. But it will be helpful to try on friend's TVs so I could give them a free ...

If you open the remote up and take pictures of the circuit board and the chips on it someone here will be able to identify which version it is specifically. Beyond that the labels on the boards aren't always accurate. Just pictures of the outside of the remote might be enough to give someone a clue.

The newer 3033 atlas remotes definitely have a built in code for the Olevia 537h tv.

You can see the info on the recent versions of these remotes at

Depending on the exact remote it may have the device built in too. The built in code won't have the discrete input code tho.

It's not obvious to someone who isn't familiar with the boxes but he has a Motorolla DCX for his dvr. Just the latest version of their box that adds support for mpeg4.

From the sounds of things the programming process functions correctly on the remote but when you press the button you don't get the ...

995 and 975 are the codes generally used when programing a macro or learning. EG you press and hold setup or shift as it is labeled on your remote and then type in 995 or 975 and then go through a few steps to setup your macro or learn a key from a different remote.

Taking a quick look at your ...

I imagine they will have some sort of ToadTog built in. You pretty much have to do activities any time you deal with anything that doesn't have discrete inputs.

LKP is one of the main extender things that I've fallen in love with and would think may not be on the original remote.

Do harmony ...

I was just looking at the new OFA/Audiovox "Xsight" remotes and it looks like they should match up quite nicely against the Harmony One, and the price is similar too.

Read about them here...

Nothing wrong with deciding to use a remote that meets your needs and gets the job done =) Personally I like the atlas remotes but I do have a few less devices that I need to control and I'm not sure what remote I would use or how I would set it up if I needed to control 10 devices.

It seems like ...

Interesting idea but I think you underestimate the cost and complexity of the box you are proposing.

1) taking a video input and overlaying a screen on top of it is not a simple process especially when you consider multiple input and output options. To do it on an hdmi signal requires proper HDCP ...

The red select button is usually the jp1.3 version. I definitely did this with the jp1.2 version before I got a cable. It should work for the jp1.3 I would assume. You might try 173 instead of 00173 in case you do have a jp1.2 version of the remote.

I like the idea of LKPs Capn Trips mentioned. Especially since i don't expect you'll be changing sound modes all that frequently.
