sequence of key strokes:

Set Up - 9 - 9 - 2 - Cable - Cable

The 6 In 1 RF Remote Control System's Rf Command Console

The Radio Shack 6 in 1 RF Remote Control System remote control emits both
IR and RF commands. Used with the 6 in 1 RF Remote Control System's RF
command console you can control your IR remote controlled devices from up
to 100 feet away. After you have set up the 6 in 1 RF Remote Control
System's remote control, just plug in the 6 in 1 RF Remote Control
System's RF command console in the same room as your IR remote controlled
devices (TV, VCR, cable box,...). Make sure the command console is
pointed at the devices you want to control and you're ready. It's that
simple!

With the use of the 6 in 1 RF Remote Control System's RF command console
you can control your IR remote controlled devices THROUGH THE WALLS. The
powerful RF (radio frequency) signal, emitted whenever your press a key on
the 6 in 1 RF Remote Control System's remote control sends a command to
the RF command console that is unaffected by household walls. The 6 in 1
RF Remote Control System's RF command console then emits a corresponding
IR signal to your IR remote controlled devices.

When you operate the 6 in 1 RF Remote Control System's RF command console
with the 6 in 1 RF Remote Control System's remote control, the remote's
command keys work like the keys on your original remote control. For
example, a key on your original remote controls labeled PWR ON/OFF is
equivalent to the 6 in 1 Remote Control System's remote control's POWER
key. When you press the POWER key remote control sends a signal to the RF
command console. The signal tells the RF command console to send the
corresponding IR code to the IR device it is pointed at.

Set Up And Operation Of The 6 In 1 RF Remote Control System's RF Command
Console

Once you have properly set up your 6 in 1 RF Remote Control System's
remote control you can operate your IR remote controlled devices from
anywhere in your house, by following these simple instructions.

1. Plug the RF command console into any AC outlet and fully extend its
    antenna.

2. Point the front of the command console towards the device (TV, VCR, CD
player,...) that you want to control.

3. Use the buttons on the remote just like you would for your IR
controlled devices (TV, VCR, cable box,...)

To control your IR controlled devices that your 6 in 1 RF Remote Control
System RF command console is pointed at simply press the appropriate
device key on your 6 in 1 RF Remote Control System remote (TV, VCR,
cable,...) and then the desired function key. This can be done from
anywhere in your home.

Telephone Upgrading Of Your 6 In 1 RF Remote Control Systems Remote
Control

Your 6 in 1 RF Remote Control System's remote control has a TELEPHONE
UPGRADE feature that allows you to upgrade your remote control with a
simple phone call. Just call our Customer Service Representative and
provide information about your IR remote controlled devices. Our Customer
Service Representative will then transmit the information over the
telephone lines to your remote control.

Note: Your remote control's TELEPHONE UPGRADE feature is designed to work
with any telephone that meets current FCC specifications for
       hearing aid capability.

To upgrade your 6 in 1 RF Remote Control System's remote control simply
follow the instructions listed below.

First, write down the brand name of your TV, VCR, cable box, etc. and the
model number of the device, or devices, that you want upgraded into your 6
in 1 RF Remote Control System's remote control. Have this information with
you when you call the Radio Shack Customer Service Representative.

Call the Radio Shack Customer Service representative at the following
special phone number: 1-800-955-7044.

Tell the Customer Service Representative what IR controlled device you
want to load into your 6 in 1 RF Remote Control System's remote control.
Be sure to give the brand name and model number of all devices to be
downloaded.

After providing the brand and model information to the Customer Service
Representative, press the SET-UP key until the red indicator light blinks
twice. Then press the POWER key briefly and the red light will come on
continuously.

Now hold the 6 in 1 RF Remote Control System's remote control up to the
ear piece of your telephone.

Note: It is very important to hold the ear piece of your telephone over
the battery compartment of your remote control. If this is not
done, the 6 in 1 RF Remote Control System's remote control may not
be able to properly receive the information coming over the phone.

While the 6 in 1 RF Remote Control System's remote control is receiving
information, the red indicator light will blink occasionally. This
confirms that the information is being transmitted.

When the information for your IR controlled devices has been successfully
received by the 6 in 1 RF Remote Control System's remote control, and all
down loading is completed, the red indicator light will blink twice.

If you have loaded more than one device code, the remote control has a
Fast Search feature that allows you to quickly search all loaded device
codes one at a time until the proper code is found.

You may change modes to fast search other devices or press the Set Up key
to exit the Fast Search feature at any time.

5. Continue entering channels you wish to include in your favorite scan

Sequences

You can set up your Radio Shack 6 in 1 RF Remote Control System's remote
control to issue a set of commands at the press of a button. For example,
you may want to turn on your TV and cable box then set the cable box to
channel three. Any sequence of commands you regularly perform can be
reduced to a single key press.

For example: to set up the sequence of commands suggested above on the
             Audio Seq key:

1. Press and release the TV key, then press and hold down the Set Up key
until the red indicator light blinks twice.

2. Press 9 - 9 - 5 then press the AUDIO SEQ key.

3. Next press the desired sequence.

    For example: TV - PWR - CBL - PWR - 0 - 3.

Please note that if your device requires the use of an ENTER key to
select a channel you must also use the ENTER key in your sequence.

4. To end the sequence press and hold down the Set Up key until you see
two blinks from the red indicator light.

5. Whenever you press the selected sequence key, your Radio Shack 6 in 1
RF Remote Control System remote control will issue the sequence of
    commands you entered.

To erase any sequence press the device key then the Set Up key until
you see two blinks from the red indicator light. Then press 9 - 9 - 5
and the key to which the sequence is assigned. Press the Set Up key
until the red indicator blinks twice again and the sequence will be
    erased.

Punch-Through

The Punch-Through feature lets you alternately control two different
devices without pressing the device selection keys for each one. Here's
how it works.

Not all of the 6 in 1 RF Remote Control System's remote control keys are
used by every device. For example, a TV is often the only device that uses
the VOLUME keys.

When you press TV then press VCR, the functions of any keys not used by
the VCR retain their TV functions.

If your cable box or VCR has volume control in it you can turn off the
punch through feature. This allows your cable converter or VCR to control
the volume of your TV set provided it can already do so. If you want to
control volume through your cable converter you must be in the cable mode.
If you want to control volume through your VCR you must be in the VCR
mode. For example:

When the remote is in the cable mode you would press the Set Up key until
you see two blinks from the red indicator light. Then press 9 - 9 - 3 and
the CBL key:

Set Up - 9 - 9 - 3 - CBL

When the indicator blinks twice a second time, volume will be controlled
through your cable box. To turn on the punch through feature for the TV
press:

Set Up - 9 - 3 - TV

When the indicator blinks twice a second time, the punch-through feature
has been turned on.

The punch through feature does not work if the last two devices you select
have the same (or similar) features. For example, most TVs and some cable
converters have VOLUME keys on their remote controls. In this case you
would have to press the desired device key before you use the remote
control's VOLUME keys.
