Light-Up Remote (15-1911) Troubleshooting Faxback Doc. # 15938

If the LIGHT-UP does not control the remote control devices when you first
set it up, you probably did not enter the correct 3-digit codes for your
devices. You can try all the codes for the brand of your device, but
because many manufacturers make products using several different brand
names, you might want to search the LIGHT-UP's entire library by following
these steps:

1. Manually turn on the device you are trying to set up.

2. Aim the LIGHT-UP at the device.

3. Press the device key, then press and hold P until the red indicator
    blinks twice. Release P.

4. Press 9 - 9 - 1 - POWER - then press the device key. Alternate between
pressing POWER and the device key unit the device responds.

Each time you press the device key, the LIGHT-UP advances to the next
    manufacturer's code in the list.

5. When the device responds, press and hold P to lock in the
manufacturer's code, until the red indicator blinks twice, then release
    P.

If necessary, repeat these steps for each device.

To determine which 3-digit code the LIGHT-UP is set to, press the device
key, then press and hold P until the red indicator blinks twice, then
release P and press 9 - 9 - 0, followed by 1. The LIGHT-UP blinks out the
number of the first digit. Press 2 to have the LIGHT-UP blink out the 2nd
digit, then 3 to have it blink out the 3rd digit.

NOTE: Some VCRs do not have a POWER key on the original remote. If so,
manually turn on the VCR, insert a tape, and Press PLAY instead of
POWER. When the device responds, press and hold P unit the red
       indicator blinks twice.

If the LIGHT-UP stops working after you successfully test the control of
each device, or if you are unable to get the LIGHT-UP to work at all,
check the following:

Be sure you press the device key for the device you want to control.

Be sure the batteries are fresh.

Confirm that the remote control devices are working properly using
manual controls or the original remotes.

If some buttons do not control your device, try searching for a better
    device code.

If you are still unable to determine the problem, call our nationwide
Universal Remote Control Hotline at 1-800-989-5000.
