Hello,

after resetting my OFA7550 with 981
I set up my OFA for my Kathrein
Sat receiver (basic code 0658).

Then I run ir.exe and used the tool "download from remote".

-The download was successful but I couldn't see the
EFC's assigned to the respective keys.

How can I see all the following assignments (I need the respective key codes):

Ch+
Ch-
1
2
3
4
5
6
7
8
9
0
VOL+
VOL-

A 981 reset clears all entries in the EEPROM, so you will not see anything in IR unless you program some keymoves or macros, or upload a device upgrade.

The built-in setup codes (the SAT:0658 to which you refer is a built-in setup code, not an upgrade) are not in the EEPROM, they are in the ROM, which IR cannot read, so you cannot see them.

There are several options to get exact info on what codes are assigned to each key directly:

(1) For the most tedious option, you would need another learning JP1(.x) remote and learn the keys you're interested in and decode them in IR;
(2) Second, somewhat less tedious, would be to manually keymove every button you're interested in, and then read the readout in IR;
(3) Third would be to find an existing upgrade that replicates SAT:0658, like this one, or this one. They both use the same PID as SAT:0658 (PID 0066) although one is built using Manual Settings, and together they have the following EFCs listed:

Code: Select all

Hi,

thanks for the EFC table. It is helpful.

-How can I see that the basic code 0066
is exactly the same as 0692 ?

I'm not sure what you are asking? What is a "Basic Code"?

If you are referring to Device Setup Codes, then the 4-digit number is insufficient, you must include a Device Type as well. E.g. DVD:0692 differs from SAT:0692.

For example, CBL/SAT:0692 uses the Aiwa protocol with Device Number=271, whilst DVD:0692 uses the NEC 1 protocol with Device:Subdevice Number=133:154. These are completely different Setup Codes even though they share a common "number".

According to the Device.xls spreadsheet, there is no 0692 setup code that shares the basic parameters (protocol and device number) with any 0066 setup code.
