RCA RT2760 Receiver Code

Post by tommyj2006 »

I have tried all the codes I could find for RCA receivers in the files section, but no luck. I am using a Comcast URC-1067. I can't seem to really find any information on this receiver, except that it uses the same remote as the RT2770 and the model of the remote is RCR192AB1.

I am new to this (just got my new cable! Thanks Aunt Vicky and Tommy Tyler!) so if you need anything more from me just let me know. Thank you!

Tom

Template:

1. Device: RCA RT2760
2. Type of device: Receiver
3. Year: 2006
4. JP1/UEI Remote model: URC-1067
5. Do you have a JP1 cable? - Yes
6. Still have original remote? - No
7. Checked the file section? - Yes
8. Checked Pronto file section (at R/C)? - Yes
9. Partially working setup code? - Yes, AUX/1254
10. Learning remote question? - Not sure? I have one...

Ok well I have been going through the codes on my URC-8820 and found a few codes that at least work somewhat. What does that help progress anything?

Have you tried built in setup code AUX/1254? Do any keys work with that code?

I just saw your second post. What are the codes that the receiver responds to?
Actually, if you have a URC-8820, you could use it's learning function to teach the commands from the original remote and the download from the remote to get the protocol and command numbers to create a new upgrade for the Comcast remote.

Ahh what am I thinking, I should have explained myself a little better. I don't have the original remote, so I am trying to really do this from scratch. The receiver responds to 1254, 1154, and 0054.

Thanks for the response!

Hi Tom, We have another category for this called a "code search" that requires you to use a template, that asks you all that kind of information.

Of all those partially working codes, you need to find out what functions work. With the closest match you'll have a good start for your protocol build.

Have you downloaded RM and the Java support libraries? You'll need that to create an upgrade.

Try all the keys on each of the upgrades that partially work and see if they make a list of what the keys do. We can look up what those numbers are.

this file should give you the same kind of control that you got with the 8820. Try this file again. You open it in RM change the remote to be your remote model, and then cut and paste the upgrade into IR.

Well I tried that file, still a no go. To make sure I am uploading it correctly, I copy the Output from RM and paste it into a new device and assign it a button then upload it to the remote, correct?

Well I'm having some kind of error when I try to change the remote to the Comcast-URC-1067 so I'm no help. It also looks like it was using a custom protocol with the 8910.

The procedure is to change your remote, check your button assignments, and then do as you described. You also need to copy any required protocols if necessary.

Yes, the only thing I could get working was the volume. I am getting pretty tired, but I will pick up on it again either tomorrow or Saturday.

Thanks for the help! I will get back to you all soon.
