9. Partially working setup code? Yes (IR Learning)

I bought a component video switch from Monoprice, and it arrived today. You can find it here: http://www.monoprice.com/products/produ ... 1&format=2
Has anyone else ever tried to get the original codes that it sends? It has IR learning, so I've tried to program it using other buttons, but it only seems to work within 3 feet or so, and sporadically at that. When I use the original remote, it switches perfectly from across the room. Is it possible that the original remote is sending out a more powerful signal? The batteries on the URC remote shouldn't be a problem as I've recently switched them.
I don't have a learning remote that works anymore, so if anyone else has used this and has the original codes, I'd appreciate it. Thanks![/url]
