The DVD/0770 on the URC-8305 uses NEC1 device=0 subdevice=FF parm=00 for KeymapMaster. There are quite a few that use the same device. The Power Key is EFC=CFh. DVD/0763,DVD/0852,DVD/0893,DVD/1104,DVD/1115,DVD/1183,DVD/1513,DVD/1676,DVD/1686 all have power key=CFh so you might want to try those setup codes to see if you can find a better match with your device.
Your remote supports WAV file upgrades. UEI can supply the WAV file via their website or you can use IR.exe to help generate the WAV file for you.

Re: Brigmton BDVD-604 DVD player codes
What does "are changed" mean? Do you mean there are other buttons in DVD/0770 that operate functions of your DVD player, but those functions don't have any meaningful relationship to the button names?dreamcrawler wrote:9. There are a LOT of DVD player code sets that are NEC1 device 0. (The subdevice and parm info Binky mentioned is assumed when you just say "device 0"). Those code sets map functions to internal codes in far more ways than there are OneForAll setup codes for NEC1 device 0. Maybe you can find a good fit with one of the built-in setup codes or with one available by .wav download from OFA. But more likely not.
If you learn how to create .wav files with our free software and how to load them into your 8308, it shouldn't take much experimentation to figure out the exact mapping of functions to internal codes, to create a perfect upgrade to put whatever functions you want on whichever buttons you want.
It's all easier with the cable than by .wav file. But it isn't that hard by .wav file.
If you make a list of which buttons in DVD/0770 do which functions of your DVD, that would be a big head start and avoid the first round of experimentation with .wav files.

Exactly, Power off is correctly placed, but the rest of the responding keys perform a different function with no relationship with the original one.johnsfine wrote:What does "are changed" mean? My remote does not have a jp1 cable port, and though it supports wav updates, i need to know where to start, what software to use , etc. Is there any tutorial about creating the updates via wav files for OFA remotes?
If you want to try to experiment with .wav files, you really should do that first step of making (and posting to this thread) the list of which button in DVD/0770 does which function in your DVD.
I don't know if there is any tutorial oriented toward using JP1 software for .wav file. The tutorials I know of are for using JP1 software with a JP1 cable. Many of the steps are the same, so those tutorials are somewhat useful. Some of the steps are different, so you need something more. If you don't find something better, I can answer enough questions here (or you could find most of the answers in other threads) to make it possible.
The starting point if you were using the cable is

The software you need for .wav is a simpler question. You need:
RemoteMaster

The RDF file for your model of remote

IR.exe
